I have two doors to my bedroom and he scratches at the one that is blocked so by the time i get to him he is walking towards me and i can't spray him because he won't know why i did it. and furniture cat spray is useless is just runs down the wall in streaks

My siamese likes to scratch or paw at doors, walls, dressers, etc... when he does it in the middle of the night I know it's just for attention. I usually get up and check to make sure he has food and water, and if so, then the next time he starts pawing his way to China through the side of my dresser I get him with the squirt bottle. This sends him running down the hall, but after a few times he stops completely (as least for a few days worth of peace!). Now all I have to do is show him the bottle and he goes running!

Maybe try putting something soft on the door so when he starts banging or scratching on it you can not hear it. Or even try a sratching post or something to keep his mind off the door. My boyfriends cats do the same thing but only when they want to be let into a room or out of one.

My aunt used to have the same problem. She put stuff on the doorways to prevent anymore damages from the scratching cat. After a few years, she got her cats declawed(just the front paws). I suggest asking a professional animal trainer or w/e for help and save the declawing as a last result.

does he scratch the door or the carpet under the door? try putting something with a texture that cats don't like on the surface he scratches up. a thin rubber doormat would do for the carpet. the door is tough... you could try a few layers of tinfoil. it would be an eyesore, but he won't like the feel of it.
