Im 16, I have hypothyroidism. I take levothyroxine but my doctor said I still have a enlarged thyroid. Could it be something more serious, like cancer? I have my first ultersound on Jan. 15.

It's possible it could be cancer, but it could just be an enlaged nodule. Your thyroid medication may help to shrink it. Just be sure you are on the correct dose, which for most will get your TSH below 2.0.

I have put a link below for a great thyroid site.

my friend had an enlarged thyroid, but when she went to the doctor for consultation, the doctor gave her some medicine, she took the medicine as instructed, after a while her thyroid gland became smaller, in your case since you will have your ultrasound on jan 15, all you have to do is wait for the result, dont worry too much, make sure to take your medicine
