We pollute the our home planet, our only source of life. Every day the earth is getting worse and worse. We humans have used our great knowledge for destruction. Pollution. We have to remember what we are doing. We are killing all life on Earth. No more fish, no more dogs, no more trees, no more beautiful blue skies, no more goregous mountains, no more family, no more friends, no more humans, no more life.

It's TOO late now, we set the fate for our planet.

what have we done????

The earth has tremendous regenerative capacity, as has been demonstrated by the rebound after the great die-off at the end of the Cretaceous period.

Instead of giving up and succumbing to depression and doom, it makes MUCH more sense to live in an environmentally sound way and influence/educate others to do the same, in spite of staggering odds.

Well Garrett, before screaming that the sky is falling, look at the facts below.

Actually the temperature of the earth has only increased less than 7/10 of 1 degree (C) from 1880 to 2005. That is an increase of about 1 degree (F) in 125 years. You may choose to believe that is global warming or you may not. Here is a link taking you to a NASA chart showing that temperature chart. http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/2005/2005cal_fig1.gif There are numerous charts all over the internet showing the same. Some say that 1 degree is enough to impact the global climate, others say it's not. Most proponents of global warming think the earth's temerature has risen much higher than that and don't even know that it has only risen by 1 degree. But the charts do not lie as do the proponents on both sides of this issue.

Back in the '70s all the hype was about global COOLING and another ice age was coming. I remember that they blamed pollution for that too. They said that all the pollution was darkening the skies and not as much sun was coming through so the earth was cooling off. It took several years but they discovered that they were mistaken. So when someone says, "the sky is falling" don't believe everything you hear on either side of the issue. There are Spin Doctors galore out there.

Most of the time people will form an opinion and not really be informed about the subject with which they become so opinionated about. So it's best that you not form your opinions from other's opinions, (as in this forum) but on the facts presented.

I hope that helps...

Such despair! Get a grip. There are many examples of humans getting their act together for the good of the planet. In my lifetime we have taken lead out of gasoline, stopped using DDT, and banned CFC's. (I'm 40-something)
Be careful, you sound vulnerable. First, educate yourself. Don't count on Hollywood for your scientific knowledge. Read Scientific American instead. Make sure your information comes from valid sources. Second, do something. You'll feel better about the whole situation when you are confident that you are doing all you can. And third, you will be leading by example. Finally, be confident in the fact that life is persistent. One way or another we will get through this!!!

Who says it's too late for us? Lest you forget the technology that got us into this position, is also in the works to get us out. Biofuels, CFC free products, catalytic converters, environmental friendly homes (whcih I hope to see the trend of the future) Reuse, Reduce, Recycle as a way of life in most cities and becoming increasingly easier to do in smaller towns by introduction of recycling centers. EPA regulations becoming increasingly stringent. Nature reserves as a part of rptecting land, wildlife, and aesthetic quality for all of us to see. Beautiful lakes and streams that once were too polluted to even do as much as take a dip in. Landfills being turned into parks and natural resources being used in a more responsible manner. I have to say that even if the process is slow, we are actually taking a turn in the right direction. However, you are right about one thing, We need to all get involved in doing the right thing for our children's future. It can just as easily take a turn in the wrong direction if we don't all do our part. Your question may seem a bit alarmist to me at first but it does make a person think of what they can do to help. Thanks!

It is not to late. We have a 10 year window of opportunity. But now is the time to act.

Would you rather run around screaming with fear in the future or at change your lifestyle a little right now?
It's much easier to buy hybrid cars and still enjoy life now instead of having to live underground in the future.
Or make your kids live in uncomfortable situations their life.

Agree, unless at least our Government, most countries and all giant companies realize that we all together should do something to recover the Earth. Don't create any stupid handy products,
Create some product to help the Environment, Please!!!!!!!!
