me and my dad like to make stuff or do something every weekend, like one weekend we made potato guns (legal in my state), another we went snowboarding, this weekend he wants to do something with air compression. what do you think we could build? we have an air compresser that goes up to 250 PSI and lots of high pressure rated pvc pipe.

Please be careful pressurizing pvc pipe! It is not rated for gasses and can/will explode even if you don't exceed the rated psi (and I know of no 250# rated pvc). The bigger problem is WHEN it explodes the pipe fractures into shards and, propelled by the expanding gas, becomes for all intents and purposes a grenade. That's why it is illegal to use for gas. I know I sound like a killjoy, but I'm not! Use metal piping for gas and have a blast! (pun intended) Save the PVC for a future project with liquids.
Hmm, how about building horns and competing to make the loudest AIR HORN? (need I mention hearing protection? LOL! )

An air whistle
Maybe a four or five note organ, with solenoids to direct air to the proper pipes
Keep a balloon in the air to demonstrate Bernoulli's theorem
generate static electricity, measuring it with a homemade Leyden jar

A lighter. You can cause dry moss or kindling to ignite in a tube if you can build up enough pressure. I discovered this researching diesel engines.
