The egg.

It was laid by a Red Junglefowl, a Gallus species originating in Asia. It is not a chicken; it is, however, the ancestor of all chickens.

Somewhere down the line, one of the Red Junglefowl's eggs' DNA was mutated, and the egg produced a new kind of bird, a chicken. Which means, the Red Junglefowl's egg came before the chicken. And the first true chicken egg was laid by that chicken.

But if you want to think about it further, the Red Junglefowl Rooster came first, or the egg would have never hatched.

The egg

Put simply, the reason is down to the fact that genetic material does not change during an animal's life.

Therefore the first bird that evolved into what we would call a chicken, probably in prehistoric times, must have first existed as an embryo inside an egg.

Well, if you believe in evolution, the first chicken came out of a non-chicken's egg.

Imagine the scene.
A chicken and an egg are in bed together.
The chicken is all laid back and relaxed, smoking a cigarette with a huge smile on his face.
The egg is obviously upset, back turned to the chicken and frowning.

Does that answer your question?

Egg. After all, there were eggs in the days before chickens, like pterodactyl eggs. And yes, I think I did just make that up. ;)

the CHICKEN came first because some creature must've gradually evolved into a chicken, then the chicken layed an egg.

chicken came first, is among the things God created and that same God gave us the power to produce so therefore egg is product of chicken, so chincken came first.
