You may not be downloading anything but if you practice proper etiquette you are likely sharing what you've already downloaded so what I do is ``pause'' until I am done browsing and then ``resume'' to continue sharing when I don't need the speed.

BitTorrent is a P2P software that will allow you to download the files from internet faster. Since it provide you to download the source from internet, it will also shard your computer files to other bittorrent network user, so block the other user accessing your files please make a change on the Options section and disable the shard option.

Because unless u shut the program down the Bittorent servers will use a small part of ur bandwidth as a ( SEEDER ) meaning that u will be helping others with slower access to download a little faster

Bittorrent is always connected to the different servers and is constantly looking for updates and peers for future use.
