Please tell me the best place to look. I know my original name and my biological big sister's name. Thanks.

Try 192.com
It may cost you a few quid, bit it may be worth it.
It must be awful not knowing where you come from.

Good luck

If you live in the Uk try Family Records at Kew, Richmond Surrey that is the National Archives they should be able to help you.I don't think I'm supposed to give web details so just type National Archives & go from there Good luck. Also you can post messages on Genes Reunited worth a try, it worked for me when tracing my ancestry.

my friend used a place in victoria street in edinburgh sorry not sure what its called but she said they were great very helpful.her mother now lives abroad and sent a reply to the agency saying she was sorry but did not want any contact as her "new" family including her husband did not know my friend existed and she would prefer it kept that way.you could try register house to see if youre sister has got married do you know her date of birth as i think you need this as well as a name you would get an address there butit might not be up to date but it would be a start.good luck and i hope you get what you need from this i really do.

I don't think it's a good idea to try. People that adopt out their children have a lot of problems. They usually don't want to be found. I know children (sometimes any age) romanticize a big warm reunion. In actuality, it is rarely the case.

People move on. Your birth mother probably has another family and you might be a secret.

Don't make a quick decision on this. Have you discussed it with your adopted parents? What are their thoughts?

After you have thought long and hard, try US Search. They can find just about anyone.

If you live in the UK, go to the Adoption Team of the Local Authority where you were born/where you were adopted. They should be able to help you.
