To the men: if you found out your wife or girlfriend was pregnant, what would be the first thing or things you'd get for the kid?

I ask because I saw the movie Fever Pitch a few days ago, about a Red Sox fanatic. At one point, the guy thought his girlfriend might be pregnant, and he bought a Red Sox baby onesie--that is, a one-piece outfit. Later, when the girl's friend became pregnant, she reported her husband bought the unborn baby a railroad hat. The baseball fan's girl replied, "They do that, don't they?"

So, guys, what would you get your child-to-be?

And gals, when you were pregnant, what did your guy buy for your unborn kid?

When I was pregnant with my first my hubby surprised every couple weeks with something new for our baby, a teddy bear, a piggy bank, a night light for his room.....little stuff that he knew I wantedbut was awaiting on. Also, I was due a few weeks after mothers day but he brought me home candles, adn flowers and rose petals for the bed on mothers day. He then started to massage me with my cocoa butter (you know to prevent stretch marks.) and I very promtly fell asleep on him. He blew out the clandles and fell asleep talking ot my tummy.

With our first son (God this seems like ages ago), my husband bought a little football themed baby set.. It had a onesie, pants, a hat, and this little jersey looking thing in it... With our first daughter, my husband bought a baseball set. (we didn't know the sex either time, he was just hopeful).. With our twins, I let the older two pick out something for each. My son (who was 13) bought 2 stuffed footballs, and my daughter(who was 6) bought these little ballerina outfits. I suppose my kids will just always be well rounded!

Well,I must say that I agree with dara.... It seems as though you are waiting around and being dependant on him for your own happiness...and while I understand this is a time for bothof you-it appears as if he is being a dissapointment.Of course you are sad,who would'nt be.. Talk to him and tell him what you have told us......print out your question even...whatever it takes to get your feeling across to him..I don't know if you are being to nice, but if you are not telling him how you feel well,he might not know.Men are not mind readers, and the fact that you are hurting will not automatically show through to him.You really need to be open with him about these things. The best of luck to you and your family ☺

My husband sent me my favorite color roses last year for mothers day ( i was 8 months pregnant) and in them there was a little teddy bear rattle. I cried because it was so sweet he thought of me and the baby.

I am not a guy but my husband and I are trying to conceive and he already has his eye on a Charger onesie. He's gonna wait to see if it should have ruffles or not though. :)
