I keep reading headlines about people suing New York City Hotels for bed Bug bites !

Hub cities (like NY) have a lot of travellers from areas that have that kind of infestation. Bedbugs can get into clothing, luggage, etc., and hitch a ride to new locations very easily. Also, the most potent insecticides were long ago outlawed so it's difficult to eradicate them once they settle in.

They shouldn't sue! Anyone who sleeps on a bed has bed bugs, it just depends on how often they change their sheets, if they pee in the bed, and if they take a shower before they go to sleep! So I would also blame the people sleeping in those beds! You can also tell the maids to wash your sheets before you sleep on them. Some may even have plastic still on the beds which keep the bed bugs from growing or getting out. Everyone has bed bugs!

It ain't the city, it is the bed. Hotels all over have them.
