i found frizium to be fantastic for this and any halusination changes you may get.it is a black listed in scotland and in other places your gp has to sign and add a special code to the script before it can be issued.if you can persued your doc to give you a trial on it you will be sure to reap the benifits good luck kid

My 18 years old daughter has suffered epilepsy since birth after a brain injury during labour. She has tried EVERY siezure drug on the market and still fits daily. However when I say daily these manifest themselves in many ways, absences, tastes in the mouth, just sometimes looks like shes having time out. She does have grand mal seizures too, thankfully we are all well aware of what has to be done in these circumstances. Of my understanding of this situation, the body like anything becomes "Used" to the drug and has to be changed every so often if the seizures are not completely controlled, hence why my daughter has tried them all. Basically you then start again, as the brain has forgotten that you/she may well have been on them seventeen years ago. The one she has had the better control out of though is her current one which is called Keppra or Levetiracetam dosage for her is 2,500mg daily very high. Best of Luck.

my sister is epileptic, medication wont stop you taking seizures for ever it only reduces it a little. i can not remember what medicine my sister takes for her epilepsy but i know that she had a temprolobectimy( where part of the scared bit of her brain was removed) this reduced the number of seizures she was taking dramatically it is lucky if she takes 1 or 2 severe ones in about 3 years

I am not an epileptic, but understand that epilim (sodium valproate) is prescribed - and that deprakote is a more tolerated brand than eplim - which can cause upset stomachs.
