Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia vs Brandon "The Truthe" Vera
Vera has proven his skill as well rounded mixed martial artist but dispite his lack of popularity Big Tim definiatly has the advantage in this fight. If you've followed Sylvia's career at all you will know he is very talented and has the potential to be the best Heavyweight in the world, when he lost his belt we saw the best Tim ever, hungry to return the belt to Iowa, but since he has regained the belt we have only seen the most boring fights in MMA history come out of Tim. He is so scarred of losing his belt again he has no disire to finish fights and simply tries to "not lose" which he very good at. Honestly I give this fight to Big Tim, if Jeff Monson can't take him down and keep him there then there is no way Vera can (BJJ is his base style) and while he has shown to be a very impressive striker as well Tim just has such a huge advantage standing with his massive hieght and reach. So as much as I want him to lose his title I give this one to Tim Sylvia.

Matt Hughes vs Deigo "The Nightmare" Sanchez
This is a tough match-up because they are almost identical as far as strenghts and weakness (although after watching Deigo KO Joe Riggs Deigo might have the advantage standing). Matt Hughes in my opinion is overall unimpressive, his wrestling is great but only seems to be able to submit when the opponent makes the mistake of opening themselves up. His stand-up is weak. Diego is a young star on the rise with lots of time to perfect his skills. I give this match-up to Deigo although it would be stupid to count the former champ out, I definatly wouldn't put any money down on that fight

Rich "Ace" Franklin vs Mike "Quick" Swick
Another very even match, both fighters prefur to stand but have no problem taking it to the ground, Im a big fan of Mike Swick but I give this fight Franklin simply because out experience, Rich's corner always seems to come out with a great gameplan (except for against Anderson Silva of course) and his training is unmatched.

Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell vs Quinton "Rampage" Jackson
Since their match-up in 2003 Chuck has had seven knock-out victories while Rampage has been brutally knocked out twice by Wanderlei Silva and once by Mauricio "Shogun" Rua, a few decision victories and Richardo Arona being his only notable KO victim via slam. Without a doubt The Iceman will avenge his final loss and further prove he is best lightheavyweight in the world.

Jens "little Evil" Pulver vs BJ "The Prodigy" Penn
In my opinion BJ won the first match-up, and since has gone on to defeat the likes Matt Hughes, Renzo Gracie, and #1 lightweight in the world Takanori Gomi, losing only to best in world which were all controversial fights as well. While Pulver has had several KO victories none of them over any Top 10 or even top 20 opponents and has loss to 3 non-elite fighters as well as Takanori Gomi and Hayato Sakurai. I would definiatly give this fight to BJ Penn and I further expect him to gain the lightweight title and try once more to avenge his loses to both Matt Hughes and George St. Pierre.

Silvia vs. Vera- Everyone wants big time to lose, but for some reason he keeps pulling it off. If Arlovski couldn't beat Sylvia then I don't think Vera will.

My choice Sylvia.

Hughes vs. Sanchez:
Wow, Hughes loses one fight after being the most dominant welterweight around and suddenly he is a chump? Diego got a lucky shot in with his stand up on Riggs, he does look a lot better with his stand up, but he's not a striker yet. Before Hughes loss everyone was saying Diego wasn't ready for a Hughes or a GSP. Now everyone has him favored to win? Naw. Matt Hughes will probably pretty handily beat Diego, he is more seasoned, and stronger. Since Diego normally wins by out conditioning and out tempoing his opponents, and Matt Hughes has great conditioning, this is probably going to a decision with Matt Hughes having some big slams on Diego.

Franklin vs. Swick:

Mike is good, and I am a big fan of his. I think he has earned legitimate contender status, and battling with Franklin for the top spot would be the way to go. I see this one probably going Franklin's way. Again he is more seasoned, and a little bit better all around in my opinion. However, Franklin's chin is suspect and Swick has been ktfo'ing fools, so there is a possibility for an upset.

Still more than likely Franklin.

Liddell vs. Rampage

This all depends on which Rampage shows up. If he is invigorated and is fighting like his old self, he has the tools to be a tough match up for Chuck. Chuck is great at defending takedowns such as double legs and the like, however he isn't great at defending slams or Greco type takedowns. Rampage has great slams and a strong chin. And I shudder to think of Rampage being able to use elbows on the mat. But I think Chuck is at the top of his game, and Rampage (who I am a big fan of) is not. I see Chuck continuing his streak.

Chuck Liddell.

Pulver vs. Penn:

BJ is a great fighter, he is probably one of the most talented fighters out there. However BJ is a bit rusty while Jens has been staying pretty damn active. I think Jens is a better fighter now than he ever has been, and I think BJ isn't as good as he used to be.

My vote would be for Pulver.
