Try small rewards or a calendar with stickers... but my own experience was that the child will do it when the child wants to! All you can do is encourage and not make a big deal over it. You have over eight months to get it right - 2-1/2 is the right time to start, but not necessarily the right time to master it! She'll get it in her own time. Don't make her freak out about the whole situation or it will backfire and she'll still be in diapers in Sept.

my daughter finished potty training at about 2 1/2 ..it was hard at first though since she just didn't see the point in using the potty. We ended up making a chart and everytime she went on the potty she got a sticker and a small toy/candy..then when she did it 10 times she got a big prize. Plus everytime she went on the potty my mom (grandma) would do this little silly dance about " went on the potty....lalala..." my daughter thought it was great. I guess to her ..there was no real point in going on the potty when she could just as easily keep playing and go in her diaper. After she started going more easily on the potty..if she would just go in her diaper we would make her sit down...change the diaper...make it take FOREVER...then she hated having her diaper changed cause it took to long. Hope this helps.

All kids are different and there is no set time that children should be potty trained by. She will in her own time make the decision that she wants to use her potty. Have you tried getting her to use the "big toilet" like mommy does? Also sometimes little rewards help to speed the decision making along. Make a big deal out of her wearing big girl pants. Let her go to the shop and pick out her own ones... Hope this helps : )

Does the nursery she is going to attend require her to be potty trained? If not perhaps the nursery can help with the potty training. Your little girl being around other little ones who are using the potty may be a great help.

i was having the same problem till i bought her the book potty perfect it comes with a poster and stickers and every time she uses the potty she gets to stick one on the chart and one on herself she was so proud that for any little bit of wee she wd run to the potty. i must add that if u want to potty train her u must remove the nappies completly(but not at night) make her feel proud of been a big girl with her panties on but get ready for quite a few accidents at first get her to the potty every half hour or so then go extending the time while she learns how to control her bladder u have to be patient very patient best of luck to u

I bought the book "How to Potty Train your kid in just 1 day!" And it was a huge help!!! It is just doing a potty party. I know, I know... that sounds strange, but it works! It has a step by step directions to do the party, and it is easy and fun!!! My 2.5 year old is doing wonderful since her "party" I hope this helps! Good Luck!

some children start potty training later than others......really nothing to worry about unless of course the nursery school won't accept her unless she is trained. Here are some helpful hints that worked with my children (2boys, 1 girl ) not to mention all the of children that I have worked with;
a) reward system - one smarty/raisin ever time she asks to use the potty and sits for at least two minutes (keep a timer in the washroom,
b) Sticker program - a sticker for asking to go, a sticker for sitting for two minutes, a sticker for going, a sticker for flushing, a sticker for washing and drying her hands if she gets a total of x number of stickers per day she can trade it in for an extra story at bed time or something else she would find rewarding.
c) read to her while she sits on the potty
d) play music in the washroom.......nature sounds like water falls
e) cheerios in the toilet bowl to try and pee on......always helps to make it fun
f) buy a pair of really wonderful panties in her favorite character - dora, princess, barbie etc. keep them visible and let her know that only when she is a big girl can she wear them
g) most little girls want to be like their mommy, take her into the washroom with you, show her step by step.....then do something like put lip gloss on or paint your fingernails and let her know when she is a big girl too she can do those things.
Some different ideas you may or may not of thought of.......ultimatley don't try too hard or she will resist harder.......nothing to medically worry about until she hits about three at least what my doctor has always said.
Pull ups are great, they fit like panties, go up and down easy and if there is an accident no big deal!
Good Luck and try not to worry too much.....hope this helps!

I would start right around 2. 2 is the best learning stage. If she trys to hop of try giving her rewards for using the potty. Lik ever time she uses it correctly she gets a dime and then at the end of the month u can take her shopping and she can pick out her own little special toy.Good Luck!

Use the reward system...I used gummy bears to get it going. Every time he went potty he got a gummy bear. Worked like a charm. When he was done we used pull ups.
