get tennis balls, frisbees etc. if your dog doesn't like to retrieve, play hide and seek....go hide in the yard and have someone hold your dog ( no peeking) then have them let him loose to "go find momma" at first he won't know what to do - that is when you make silly noises -- when he finally finds you - give him treats and make a big deal.... trust me , it won't take him long to learn the game.

My dogs love fetch. They love frisbee. A tennis ball is the all time favorite though. We play a game where I run, and they all run after me. You can get one of those throwing stick things, and you can really launch a ball a really long way.

You can throw anything - old shoes...whatever - if the dog fetches he will fetch whatever you throw. I also like to play tug of war - get some tube socks and knot them together and make more knots in them - dogs love to play tug with them.

This may sound funny but when I take my dog outside I chase him then he turns around and chases me. Its good exercise for him and me. He seems to enjoy it. He also likes to wrestle. The sock idea is also a good one. Ive done that too.

I'm not sure what their name is, but my dogs LOVE to play with the paper roll that is left when all of the paper towel is gone (is it called a core?) I dunno. We play fetch with that and best of all, it's a free toy.
They also like to play chase with the sprinklers, but we are in water restrictions, so that's off for this summer.
Tennis balls are cheap to buy. You can pick them up for a couple of bucks at the 5'n'dime
Have fun.

You could do the chase game. Get your dog to follow you around and chase you. It burns lots for you and also keeps your dog in shape too.
