....exposures of the Cambrian Manhattan Formation (or Manhattan Schist) crop out throughout the park....

not only are they natural But the grooves in them were caused by the last glacier that ran them over. -seriously .
If you notice all the grooves in all the rocks run in the same direction- the glaciers direction of travel.

I cant imagine why anyone would lug 80foot blouders to decorate a park inside of a city...

but not the kind like to climb using ropes and stuff
they are just huge rocks
