I have a 10 week old boxer pup and have recieved a lot of suggestions on putting some peanut butter in his kong toy to help with crate training. Is he too young to have a little each day, or is it fine? I have read a lot of conflicting information.

It's fine. I have been putting it in my Lab's Kong since we got her and she's never had problems other than getting all of it out. lol

I think it is ok for your pup to have a bit of peanut butter. I would recommend freezing it in the Kong, that way it will take longer for him to get it out, which will keep him occupied longer. My dogs love it.

He can have a little but not to much because when he gets used to human food thats what he'll want.Try to wean him off it and start giving him puppy food. You can try milkbones instead of peanut butter for crate training.Thats what me an my parents did with out black lab.

a little each day won't hurt. some vets even tell owners to hide medicines in a little peanut butter to make it easier to give their pets the meds. there are even peanut butter treats/biscuits for dogs

small amouints of peanut butter in his kong before you leave for work - in his crate is ok it will keep him occupied and then he will nap ( like he is supposed to do in his crate)

No, he'll love it - you can get peanut butter flavored treats for him at the pet store too.

it wont be good if you feed them to him too much because he could get a little stuck in his throut and that stuff is hard to get out
