I used to disagree with it in cases except rape. But as I've gotten older and seen all these girls with all these kids with seperate fathers, and none of them around, I wonder what they're thinking. I think it's looked down upon far too much, anymore. Shouldn't it actually be encouraged in some sense? God asked Abraham to sacrifice his birthed son as God even did for us! It's almost as if these girls are thinking selfishly by bringing these children into this world of their own sin to create more sin for lack of the affection and education that they fail to give. Is it not sad, and should it be alright to dicourage these girls of delivering these children? Very few of you us take responsibity for our own actions anymore, and that includes our influence's.

Typical religious bollocks stinking up this thread. Why do all pro-lifers care so much for the fetus and yet seem not to give a sh*t about the human being?

I presently can only see a legitimate 'abortion' in one case; the case where the life of the mother is at stake. In such case, the doctor should not be liable for the loss of life for mother or baby.
As for the responsibility issue you raise; do we as 'older people' (I am presently 49), owe our younger people a more rightous society than we have given them to present? To take a scripture; Am I my brother's keeper? (Gen. 4:9) My answer; Yes.
But you make your own decision.

I don't think it's okay for a woman to have an abortion unless, of course, the woman's life is threatened by the birth of the child or when she is told that she'll have difficulty bearing/carrying the child.
As for those unmarried pregnant girls, I don't see why they'd get involved in such affairs in the first place, ruining their own lives and the lives of their child(ren) who's most likely gonna be fatherless-- but this doesn't mean they should abort the child! It's not the child's fault; it's his/her unmarried parents' fault.
As for females who're raped and get pregnant... I'm still kind of undecided on that! But ... I don't know... I still don't think it's okay to abort the child just because you were raped, you know? (Exceptions listed above.)
Question, by the way....When you mentioned Abraham's story, did you mean that aborting a child is similar to sacrificing the child? If so, aborting a child is not at all similar to a sacrifice. Everyone has the honorable right to live so let's let them live.
Peace to all!

Just my own opinion, I think it is wrong. I think people should take responsibility for their actions--they have a moral duty to take care of that baby. If they really do not want the baby, then they always have the option to give the baby up for adoption. Why kill an innocent human being who is just trying to survive?? I don't think anyone should "play God" and decide who can live and who can't. Note, this is just my opinion and others have a right to theirs.

Depends on the circumstance. I am LDS and we believe that abortion is necessary or "accepted" if the pregnancy was a result of rape, incest, or if there is danger to the mother or baby. That said, even in those instances, abortion should be prayerfully considered and not just "done". I do not believe people who just "didn't want to be pregnant" right now or whatever should have an abortion. It is a life and a precious spirit of our Heavenly Father.

Only if continuing with the pregnancy can cost both the mother and child their lives than an abortion should be allowed. But that is the ONLY acception.

Yes and no. I believe that it is right to have an abortion for health reasons however I would not say they are 100 % right. I do not want anti-abortion laws because it is a violation of freedom and it is a woman's right to do so.

God told Abraham to sacrifice his son. Why? Because he was testing Abraham. Abraham loved his son so much, and God was testing whether he loved his son more than he loved God. Abraham passed the test. God stopped him. Therefore, God never intended for Abraham to sacrifice his son.

Abortion is murder

abortion can be avoided entirely if those "young girls with all these kids with separate fathers" wouldn't have PRE-MARITAL sex. It's a human life you're talking about, not so much garbage. Do people really think this way???

ladybug -- by whose definition is a Pre-born Human not a Human??? is it because it is inside the mother? what about when it is being born? is it a Human then? in your PROFESSIONAL opinion, when exactly does it become Human?

I think it is a tragedy, and I think that it is a decision that an individual woman needs to be free to make, after serious consideration of other options.

I think that it's far better to opt for contraceptives, but none of them are 100% effective..
