and leave the toilet seat up, like it's supposed to be?

I've always maintained that women should show more concern about the guy who won't put up the seat to begin with and sprinkles all over it. Even if he does wipe it off - it is not like he used disinfectant or anything.

Ladies - do you sit on a chair with out looking at it first? What if someone left a tack on it or spilled food on it? Look before you sit. Anyway, if the seat is up - you don't have to touch it with your hand - just pull it down with your foot.

Blimey! You have opened a can of unmentionables, haven't you? Your question was posted an hour ago and it already has five thumbs down!!
I'm intrigued by some of the answers as this particular obsession has never been one of mine, and I have never really understood why some women get so worked up about it, after all it is a simple enough thing to do. It never occured to me that some women might sit down without noticing the seat was up, and consequently fall down the toilet. This is not so funny if it happens to you.
I think I'm considerate in not complaining if the seat is left up, but as i always use it down, I don't put it up when I have finished! I think I'll refuse point blank to be more considerate in the future on this one!

Honestly, I put the toilet seat down...the cover too, if there is a cover.

But the female toilet seat down thing is really stupid. Blah Blah Blah, clean, cook, yadda...this aint the 1900s anymore, Women are moving on up.

And on an endnote, I think women back up to the toilet without looking so they want the toilet seat down. If this is not true, then it just doesn't make sense.

Why can't men be more considerate?

Don't even go there!!! where has male chivalry gone, probably out with the dinosaurs. You try going for a number 2 in the middle of the night on a cold toilet. Thats how we feel every time we go and the seat is up.

Its the other way around. How would you like to fall in. Women do the cleaning, the cooking, and what gratitude do we get? Falling in the toilet in the middle of the night because our guy doesn't thing about the seat.

Oh and another thing.. Why can't men wipe off the seat if they are too lazy to pick it up with they sprinkle on it? Why do women have to do everything in the home? Why can't men help out to?

Good question. For hygiene reasons both lids on the toilet seat should be down during the flushing process, especially if there is any solid matter involved. If you're not going to do that then who cares where it is left. If my husband leaves it up which he probably does but I've never particularly paid attention to it, then I can put it down.......I know how they work. It baffles me why so many women are worried about it. Men have so many truly annoying faults surely we can let this relatively trivial one go!

It is funny, I've thought about asking the exact same question but with men and toilet sit down. I guess, it is the reason why we separate toilets for women and men each time when possible.
For the toilet seats to remain in the right place.

Hey - you're speaking to a woman who has been to the loo in the middle of the night and fallen in cos the seat was left up. Don't suppose you've had that problem! Anyway - you are supposed to put the whole lot down when you flush to stop bacteria flying out. I think that's a good compromise.

Well, if the toilet seat isn't left up the man isn't going to fall in. However, if you do leave it up the woman sure will.
