Why is it that men will fall for girls they have nothing in common with, will sit with them for hours watching tv they don't like, even when the girl isnt particularly keen on sex, or interested in the things he's interested in, when there are women he could find who would be up for all the things he's up for? I mean, is love really just that arbitrary? Does it just choose its victims randomly? There must be a reason.

The don't know what to expect. It's unpredictable, not as boring. They find them interesting, and try to understand them.
Guys do like girls they have things in common with, but when they have nothing in common sometimes the conversations last longer.
Girls who aren't keen on sex are in many cases the girls that win the guys heart. She's not easy to win over, but also, she stands her ground. She won't change her opinion, or wants because some guy is telling her too. As well she treats him with respect, and they both develop maturity.
Guys make sacrifices and girls make sacrifices for love, because that's how the world works.

It sounds like you've just gotten your heart broken. I'm really sorry about that, because I know it feels like crap. Whomever broke your heart, you'll move on past that, if you let yourself.
Don't ever change yourself for a guy.

Love is hard to explain. You don't choose, it just sort of happens. Just like with victims, you don't mean to break another's heart when falling in love.

In order to be strong, you've got to get through a lot of rough stuff. That's how you grow, and your love grows. Though it gets harder to love the more your heart breaks, it also makes each love stronger.

I hope this helped a bit. It's just from what I've noticed in the past.

I have to say my boyfriend of 3 years and I are complete opposites. He's a country boy and I'm a city girl. We like to introduce each other to new things. We can also learn a lot of different things from each other. I guess it's nice to get into something different!

some dates work out and some don't...and then the ones that don't men consider those women weird where as other men would consider those types as a trophy...who are we to judge?

maybe men love those so-called "weird" girls cause those are the only girls whod give them respect and those are the only girls they can trust.

no guy wants some w.hore as their girlfriend.. cause, really.. who could trust some s.lut as a girlfriend?

mature guys look for the right women whod treat them right.
