This is the deal, my daughter is currently on medicaid, but when she turns a year old, the medicaid stops. I would reapply, but i think that my husband makes a little bit too much money for us to be able to get it again. The thing is, we make too much to get medicaid or chips, but we dont make enough to get some of the other health insurance programs that i have see. Do any of you know where i could find some health insurance for my daughter that wont break the bank?? Help! Im desperate, and i dont know what i am going to do...i certainly cant pay for every doctor visit straight out of my pocket.

It might be cheaper that way... With most insurance companies there is a 1000 dollar deductible, which means that you have to pay the first 1000 before they will cover anything.. With my son, (2 years old).. We never came close to meeting that deductible.. So insurance never did us any good.. It is paid for through his company, but other than that we wouldn't have it. Each ped. visit is $60 dollars, and he goes every 6-12 months.. Insurance cost out of pocket will run you around 600-800 dollars a month for a family of 3 or more.. so is is cheaper to pay cash for the visits.. Unless your child has medical problems that require frequent visits.. Other than that, I don't know what other medical you could apply for.. Sorry I couldn't be more help to you.. Good luck!!!

I don't know where you live but in California they have something called Health Families. That is for people who can't afford health insurance for there children. It goes by what you make and you will only pay $80 for the hole year and $1.00 for the doctor visit and for what ever you need. You might want to talk with the Medicaid people they should help you find other health insurance for your child.

I would check online. They have all different kinds and I think you would end up paying a monthly 'premium' or something like that and then the rest would be covered. There is definitely something out there that you could qualify for.
I currently have to have both the state and my own health insurance cover me and my soon to be born child but at least its something. Good luck to you. I know how it is its so stressful but it will be fine.

if you make to much to qualify for medicaid or any other one then you make enough to afford health insurance. Stop trying to get freebies
