Yes. Your physical maturity could be at say 25 and your emotional at 16, because of some traumatic episode that happened in your life that you never recovered from. Your way of thinking can't see past the 16 thinking because of all the hurt and pain not dealt with. You become static in your emotions, yet you age physically. This can lead to mental illnesses.

Absolutely, and it can really be a problem, especially for premature girls. Girls who physically mature early recieve earlier sexual advances, hang out with older crowds and are much more susceptible to early drug and alcohol use, and they are not mentally prepared to handle these things.
