I see way too many answers that are a result of a guess or opinion.... seriously. Stop it. Don't answer a question the way they would like to hear it, answer it the way Jesus would.

DONT TAKE OFFENSE TO THIS. I AM NOT JUDGING PEOPLE.

If you're already on track... that's awesome!

I'd just like to see some more biblical answers. Use God's gift in your life to answer them. Give a testimony of your life. God has the answers, and God is the word.

We need to stop bringing confusion with all these opinions.

I CAN BE WRONG SOMETIMES TOO

:D

Hello Doug.. :)

We can quote some scriptures, but we cannot quote every answer with just scripture..

I was suspended for that reason..I was told that I also have to give my own opinion also.. :(

In Jesus Most Precious Name..

I base my answers on my beliefs, and I have gathered my beliefs from a variety of sources, including reading the Bible on my own, reading the Qur'an on my own, reading non-Canonical religious books for comparison, studying with Jehovah's Witnesses, discussing with Jews, Christians and Muslims, and reading diverse opinions on the Internet.

Still, I feel my knowledge is substantially lacking. I post what I may to correct answers which I feel are incorrect, or to provide insight to other means of worship. There are many ways to worship God, and I applaud any and all who have found one, but I do not believe that one individual religion has a monopoly of theological truth.

I hope that most others recognize that this entire section of Yahoo Answers is very subjective, and that my opinions are my opinions and based on what research I have done.

I agree with you wholeheartedly, and somehow doubt I'm the type you're addressing, however. I have learned to wade through all the answers in search of the very few that warrant consideration, but I just hope too many aren't turned away before they learn to do the same.

Doug:

NOt everyone is as certain of their beliefs as you. I usually answer biblicly to any such questions. God did not give specific direction in all cases for all questions. Christians and people in general were given the ability to reason for a reason. God expects us to use our brains and opinions. We have the ability to opine, it is not a result of the fall. Therefore, God must have a plan for it.

This is one of the ways that people "work out their salvation." It is good to test what you believe and let others argue with you. stating your opinion, providing logical argument and being willing to let others argue against you will only make your faith stronger not weaker.

I have been a member of a debate board where debate is the norm. They have a religion section and I have put myself to the test with my opinions and my facts and my beliefs. It has made me far stronger. It has also affected others.

As you point out, telling my story, but the real story, all the gory details including those that I have not worked out in my own thinking is what will affect others. That is called authenticity.

Too many Christians say a party line and do not let them real selves be known. It is no wonder the unbelieving world sees christians as hypocrits. It is because they are to a very large degree. I would not say you should share every intimate detail on the internet, but I disagree with you whole heartedly on this question.

"Walk in the light even as I am in the light." Hiddenness only leads to greater sin. What you are suggesting is not intentional hiddeness, but it will have that effect. People will see you as cagy and not guileless.

May the grace and peace of our Lord go with you this day.

As a Christian I have studied the Word of God. When I answer, it is honest from my heart, from what I have learned. I might not know exactly where it is in the bible. But I have an understanding in my spirit that God is OK with the answer. Otherwise I don't answer.

Well..Jesus said to answer only by..Yea, Yea..and Nay, Nay.
Is that ok with you?

Matthew 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
