In my opinion, if you are a Christian you should be conservative. I have God's word as to what is right and what is wrong. It's very difficult to believe in shades of gray, which most liberals swear by. I don't believe in anything goes, everyone is right, and everything should be tolerated. Jesus never said let's be fair to everyone. He laid down the law and I will follow His commands.

May God Bless you.

What is your exact definition of conservative? I am Catholic and do not like being labeled conservative it has negative connotations coming from liberals, some Europeans would consider me conservative since most of them reject God, meaning the fact is many Euros do not participate in organized religion.Am I conservative? read the Catholic catechism and you decide, Catholicism has been described as a mixed bag on social issues, born again Christians are more vocally aggressive in their opposition to practicing homosexuals etc, in a way your question does not make much sense as not only Americans are capable of being conservative.I certainly not going to ignore the Teachings of the bible and am opposed to gay marriage, practicing homosexuals(not being celibate),sex out of wedlock, and abortion, certain types of stem cell research...bottom line is I will follow the Catholic catechism no matter what any human thinks and the Catholic church will not cave in to social pressure, there certainly are sinners who are Catholic...sin is everywhere however I will not lose faith, my salvation is at risk.

There are so many different denominations, and also an individual may be more or less conservative or liberal than other members of his/her church. I'm generalizing here, but usually Baptists and Pentacostals are more conservative, Episcopalians and Presbyterians more liberal. Your mileage may vary.

Conservative compared to what? It's a very relative term.

But in reference to general within the U.S. politics, I'd say yes, many are. Not all, but many.

I'm just generalizing, but the majority of them:

1. Oppose homosexual marriages.
2. Oppose abortions.

oh yes... many have adopted the 'worldy ways' to handle situations... or should i say, the media's way. I see so many things on the news that i just want to spit at... but I still have to understand where they're coming from.

If conservative Christian means narrow-minded, holier-than-thou, bigoted, dogmatic, hypocritical zealots than, sadly, American has more than it's share.
