Why would God change the past when everything is according to his plan and purpose? In the end, we win. The devil loses. We have the VICTORY. I'd throw in a Semper Fi but i'm not a marine.
He can, but he doesn't need to.
That's a really good question though.. It made me think as oppossed to many of the unessecary jokes.

No the Bible states that God created the heaven and
earth. He gave free will to Adam and Eve.They eat the forbidden fruit in the Garden of Eden. They were taken out of Eden for disobeying God in Eden.Since then mankind is responsible for the world's condition.
Genesis Chapter 1 tells the complete reason why God can't and won't change the past. The final Book of
Revelation is where God will come back to take the dead saved Christians first then the great rapture will be the next step and all who believe in Christ shall be saved
and taken off the earth(rapurni)the greek word for rapture. The devil we be let loose for 7 years to rule the earth for 7 years. Its all in the last book of the bible.
The book of Revelations.

I have seriously thought about time travel, and my dad and I have both come to the conclusion that it's just not possible. Then, we thought about if God could change time and all. The thing is...the first time you go through time, you have souls that are made...that are born...if anyone were to go back in time, you would change the course of the future. That means, different souls will be made. We just don't see God doing that, because certain souls wouldn't be made and going to heaven/hell, and it would skew the balance of things.
The reason we decided time travel would be impossible, is because:
If a person were to go back in time with a bunch of soldiers or whatever and kill an ancestor of the person, the person would have never been born. If the person were never born, who would have gone back in time to kill the ancestor? Now, could God do it? God can do miraculous things. He's powerless. It's a question on would he do it? Has he done it? This goes to more of a religious aspect of the question, and I don't see God doing it, but what's to stop him?

Yes, I believe He can. Here's my logic: God created time as part of the grand experiment that include mankind. I think the experiment is in answer to the question, "What if less love?" So that every thing we call evil, is actually the result of love being removed from a given situation. In the end, the experiment will prove that love is the only power, and all love will be added back in to balance out anything negative that occured. SO, if God is the creator of time, then He is not bound by it, and in the end, the past will be changed in that anything negative in it will be completely healed.

I don't think there is a past for God the same way there is for you and I. I imagine that God doesn't percieve time in the same way you and I do. Even our limited human understanding has allowed us to figure out the space and time are not separate. If God were to change our past, we'd never know it, because it would seem that however things were changed, that's the way they always were.

For God the past is just a word, everything happens right now, the moment you are living and your memories are part of you right now, so God doesn´t change the past or modifies the future, for everything is in His perfect time.

Only if he knows he's going to do it in the future. Seriously. If he is omniscient, he knows what he is going to do in the future. So if that future does not involve changing the past then he cannot do it. To do it would render him no longer omniscient because he did not know what he was going to do. But I can see this spiraling into some feedback loops that I can't comprehend without writing it down which I am not motivated enough to do.

Well, Jesus can do anything, and I mean anything! Anything is possible. But as for him changing the past... I am in much doubt.
But I do believe that he can change the future and your present.
Cause the past has already happened and the events that occured have already aged and changed you, so I doubt that could happen. You've already gone through your past!

He could, He can do anything. But he has no need to because His plan is perfect and everything that happens is in His plan. Also, for God, time doesn't exist. It only exists for us, and our "simple" minds. But God is every where and every time at once...so actually I suppose that means He can't change the past because for him there technically IS no past. Hm...now I need to go ponder for a while. Thanks for the brain food.

if he did would we know? how would we know? if we didnt know then how can we say it even happened?
my point being, lets say i just bought a brand new mustang. god now goes back and changes something in the past and instead of buying the mustang the change has made me buy a viper instead. did i ever really buy the mustang? did it ever really happen?
even if he did change the past we would still see it as a continuum.
