I must admit that I'm holding onto a few stories for when they're older, say in their 30's.

I have shared most of my stories with my adult sons and I am happy I did. They now understand me and the things I have done. They love and respect me more than before. They both had hate feelings for me during their teen years. By knowing my side of these stories has helped our relationship greatly. I have never done anything to hurt my sons except keep things from them because they were to young to know. My sons ages are mid twenties and that is old enough. They also know I am not perfect and no one is. They even feel the pain I went threw being married to their dad. So I say share your stories.

The stories should be age appropriate. Tell the story especially if it will help teach them a valuable lesson..you know I wish I had known better like you do, but when I was your age.... Yes, some stories are def. for when they are older, I am in my 30's and still get new ones from time to time from my mom. Some stories are worth the wait.

Are you kidding me?

I would freaking lose all credibility with them if I did. I would have absolutely NO ability to say "NO" once they know what I did and what I got away with.

I'm not afraid to tell them........ I'm just not about to let the cat out of the bag until I have them trained and I'm sure they are on the right road down the correct path. THEN (like when they are married and have kids of their own) I'll spill the beans........ but not a minute before then. lol

I personally do not have any children, but I would say share the stories that have a moral, or the silly ones they will enjoy. Don't share the ones they should not know until they are older, or really not at all. [Like how they were concieved. (; ]

My child knows most of my stories. I'm keeping back a few for myself.

i used to not know a lot about my parents, but then we were all just sitting around talking one night, and i learned a lot about them and their past that i didn't really care to know. and even now i'm pretty sure we don't know the half of it. and personally, i don't really want to know until i am 30. or 50, that would be better.
