The other day someone was surprised because I said I'm proud to be single . Why would anyone be surprised at that ? Is there anything wrong with being proud to be single ?

There's nothing wrong with being proud to be single. If you're happy being single, more power to you! Some people are just too narrow minded to imagine that someone could be happy if they have a lifestyle that's different from their own. I'm glad you're happy.

Not a darn thing wrong with it at all. many people have wierd ideas about people who are single.
There is nothing wrong with it at all.
Perhaps they should realize you are not ready to settle down with another. This is your right.
Maybe in the future, you will change your mind and want a partner in life and then you can be proud of that also.
Doesnt surprise me at all that you are proud. I would be also in that i have not made a foolish mistake and had it end up in disaster like so many others.

There is nothin wrong with being proud of being single. Im not single but if i was i would be proud as well. Viva the single people!!! If your my gf readin this, kno that a i love you.

Maybe they were surprised that you appeared to NEED recognition for being something that most people don't want to be nor need recognition for being.
When I was single I was too busy having sex with various Q-Ts to be concerned with whether or not I was being recognized for the pride of being single.
Now that I am hitched I am too busy having fun and just as much sex with my one and only to be concerned with being proud or ashamed of being hitched.

These people are surprised because society has conditioned them to crave couplehood. But, really, there's nothing wrong with it. I'm probably prouder of my singlehood than anyone.

hell nah aint no problem with being proud to be single shyt u aint got no commitments wit no one, can do wateva u please n dont have to give ne one any explanations of ur actions. Shyt enjoy it while u can gurl n dont rush into nethin if u aint ready for no commitments yet.

no, that's how people SHOULD be...everyone i know who is in relationships is miserable and they tell me to enjoy it while i still can...i wish i was proud, but im lonely :(
good for you...obviously you're comfortable with yourself to not have to rely on somebody else making you happy...that's a good thing
