You are answering your own question. You are using purely human reasoning. If you wish to be a minister of the Gospel you need to accept God's view on the matter. I know you have probably been told that the Bible does not condemn homosexual behavior, but I think that is clearly wrong. At first, I had the same belief, but more exposure to the Bible as a whole (not just a few passages yanked out of context) convinced me that homosexual behavior is not God's plan for humanity.
Despite protests from some, Romans 1 is pretty clear on the subject.
As to why not preach anyway, I could turn that around and say "Why can't I steal cars and preaching the Gospel?" "Why can't I lie on Saturday and preach on Sunday?" You can't have one foot in the world and the other in the church.
My question is why you really want to preach. If you're not willing to submit to God's plan (though it may be difficult - in fact, is difficult for all of us), why call people to it? When you truly preach the Gospel, you are calling people to repent of their own sins and follow God's way. Isn't it hypocritical to call other people to do it but refuse to do it oneself?

You are a preacher? I will tell you then go to your Bible and read in Leviticus. Also, do you not recall that Babylon fell becuase of that act? the people were doing all kinds of wickedness.
Why not repent of your ways and then use that to help others. To the Lord its an abomination. Its a breakdown of the family which is Gods creation. Its a breakdown of marriage which HE ordained for MAN AND WOMAN.
I didnt write the rule. I do realize that the feelings are real and strong. However, I do realize that feelings to do drugs for some are hard, feelings to have addictions to anything are real and strong to many... its only a sin when you ACT upon it.
I would say use your faith and pray to have help to OVERCOME this temptation. Its your cross to bear in this life. Allowing you to preach to others when you do such an abomination is only allowing others to be mislead into thinking such a thing is ok with God. You are to be an example... and well, that isn't exactly something Christ would do. We are to follow the Savior.
Obedience was what He was all about......down to his final hrs in Gethsemane. Obedience no matter how hard it was.... THAT is teaching by faith and example.

Well, if you follow the Bible, the Lord God said homosexuality is wrong. Please read Romans 1. Especially verses 26 and 27 if you are truly seeking for the answer. I am not sure if you are actually 'born' that way, I think it's just some sinful nature. Pray to the Lord and ask Him to guide you. May the love of Christ be with you.
In Christ,

If you're preaching the Gospel, you should know that it does not say it is a sin to BE homosexual. It says it is detestable to God to PRACTICE homosexuality. You can still be obedient to God's Word if you are celibate. Homosexuality was a perversion of Satan inflicted on God's perfect creation. I know that wasn't policitally correct and I'm sorry for that, but I have to remain faithful to God's Word.

Just curious what would you preach? If you neither believe or live the word, why preach it? Reminder I'm sure you already know this but, we were all born with a sinful nature, remember the whole die to sell daily thing.

You shouldn't. God is against lust not love. If you are living a pure life in love then, you have no disgraced God. Even if that is not your belief, let me remind you of this; John 8:7 states "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone"
So even if you believe that Homosexuality is a sin, no one sin is worse then the other, then you are merely proving the Jesus truth, that he came to wash our sins in his blood, so that we may leave them at the alter.
God is the truth and the way and life. May the Lord bless you my brother.

If you were really Pastor you would know...
Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. (Lev. 18:22)
If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads. (Lev. 20:31)
God, he gave them over to a depraved mind,...in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another.(Romans 1: 18-32)
We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, 10 for adulterers and perverts, for slave traders and liars and perjurers—and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine 11 that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me. (1 Tim. 1: 9-11)

No one would take an openly homosexual pastor seriously.
How can you preach the word of God when you can't even listen to Him and stop your sinning?
I couldn't listen to anyone preach knowing they were in that kind of a lifestyle. It would repulse me.
