What is an atheist?Oh well it's a person who doesnt "swallow"what it gets from the large masses. An atheist it is said that is a person who doent belive in God,in my opinion its just a very rational person, very realistic who wont belive in something that cannot be seen, and from whos existence he can only read in books but with not very good prouves or arguments for his existence. Those who say that the biggest crimes were commited by atheists just take a minute, try to be realistic and think of what the so called belivers did in the name of their religion.
Are christians better?Hmm..i wont say that. Each person its unique and depends of his caracter and his all behaviour if its a good person,a valuable person or not.It has nothing to do with religion, sexual orientation etc.

I watched this documentery the other day talking about the reality of atheists. Of course it wasnt made by atheists. And the guy was like atheist's beleive in evolution hitler was fascinated with evolution. And thats where he got the idea of eugenics which is taking survival of the fittest in your own hands. And then he just gave the camera a wink. And did the same thing with stalin afterwards. It was pretty commical but at the same time pissed me off. Cause it was soooo far from the truth.

Well, I read it... and I want to make a couple points. The author says:

"Atheists are often imagined to be intolerant, immoral, depressed, blind to the beauty of nature and dogmatically closed to evidence of the supernatural."

This is a myth he appears to want to refute. However, though it may be true that some Atheists are well adjusted, intelligent people, you can see here that this is not the case for all as a high portion of Atheists that post here display one or more of those traits in their "questions"

Also, he goes on to say "Though its a fact that Atheists are the most intelligent scientifically educated people in any society..." (paraphrased because I lost the page) Its not a known fact at all and it is also pretty obvious by many Atheist posts here that many can't even spell properly or know proper grammar.

The only Truth I know between Atheists and Christians is that they both have annoying fundamentalists who think they know everything.

expensive Barbie, Please examine over your paragraph. I exceptionally propose removing polite, poise (it rather is poised by potential of ways, Ms Yale) and humble and "much extra clever" (when you consider which you are able to no longer spell poised) out of your description of your self. I went to an ivy league college too so enable's no longer play the holier-than-thou game. provide up being so arrogant because of the fact Jesus useful wasn't (he taught humility which you of course lack) and additionally it has no place in Yale. you will comprehend this autumn that maximum folk there are there to learn and that they do no longer walk around reminding one yet another they have been given into Yale...when you consider that they are all in Yale. So till you graduate summa *** laude or with optimal honors or something, i might lay off the bragging rights. it rather is embarrassing analyzing somebody criticize others and claiming to be polite and humble - it rather is laughable.

An atheist is someone without belief in gods.

By the way, Sam Harris is a really smart guy. I've got both of his current books, "End of Faith" and "Letter to a Christian Nation". I've read the latter, still working through the former.

What we need is the reality of judgment.

Respect is a two way street. How can you expect them to respect your views, if you don't respect theirs.

Respect doesn't mean you have to agree. Just acknowledge the fact that you both have the right to believe what you want.

I don't classify myself as anything. That would be conforming that isn't a good thing.

I like to think of Christians as the group of people that can't think for themselves.

You make an excellent point. Christians are not better, they just beleive they are, but believing does not make it so.
