I am wondering about the origin of the phrase "I don't want to be part of any organization which would have me as a member"

The original Groucho Marx quote was :

I sent the club a wire stating, PLEASE ACCEPT MY RESIGNATION. I DON'T WANT TO BELONG TO ANY CLUB THAT WILL ACCEPT ME AS A MEMBER.

It's an old Groucho Marks line, " I would never join any club that would have me as a member." I'm not sure what movie it's from.

Before Groucho's use, I remeber it as a Mark Twain quote.
