Fruit is very good for you; but you need to have it in the proper amounts. SInce it contains a lot of natural sugar per each fruit, you can be getting tons of sugar by eating more than 5 a day. i suggest go between 2-4 fruits a day.
Dont worry about it,.

Fruit is definitely good for you, but don't eat it like crazy. No more than 7 servings. Here's why people may have said its bad:
1. Pesticides, chemicals, etc. that fruit is treated with to last longer. This can be reduced with a thorough washing or completely eliminated by buying organic (highly recommended).
2. The amount of sugar in fruit. This may come as a surprise, but fruit. especially sweet tasting fruit like apples, contain lots of sugar. Sure, its a good natural sugar, but it is still sugar. Thats why you shouldn't eat TONS, but enough.
Fruit also contains fibre (esp. apples-theit skin to be exact) which is super-good for you.

Like many said, the reason is the sugar content.
The proponents who are saying this is the meat and fat people. They have studied the most healthiest people in the world and found they didn't eat very much fruit at all.
Eskimoes, some Africans, various American Indians, Isolated tribes worldwide. All above were reknowned in strength and physical prowess and NO ROTTEN TEETH!
Could it be because they hardly ate any fruit? People are told to eat fruit because could it be they grew so much as an industry they now have to sell them?

Fruit is good for you.
Fruit has alot of natural sugars in them - some more than others. If you ate an excessive amount of fruit in one sitting, you would probably get some kind of sugar rush. Try eating some nuts with your fruit, to help slow down the body's absorption of the sugar.
Add veggies to your diet too - those help keep you full!

Eat fruit as much as you want! Just make sure it's not all you're eating and that you are doing a bit of exercise each day to counteract the high sugar content in fruit.
Fruit has many healthy benefits for your skin, hair, eyes etc.

It does contain a LOT of sugar. So don't eat it like "crazy." Limit yourself to 2-3 pieces of fruit a day. Like a banana at breakfast, an apple at lunch and an orange after dinner.

Fruit is good for you but some fruits are higher in sugar. If you are wanting to lose weight then you may want to not each as many bananas, pineapple, melon, etc. b/c these fruits are higher in sugar.
Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, apples are some with lower calories and sugar. If you aren't worried about your weight then eat all the fruit you desire.

Fruit is good for you. It contains vitamins and minerals that are necessary for our body to function properly and fight disease.
People who recommend that you stay away from fruit are low carb/high protein dieters. It is not good to cut any healthy food out of your diet long term, you will become deficient in essential vitamins and minerals.
Just make sure you are eating enough veggies and other healthy food. Make sure you eat food that is high in protein (chicken, fish, etc.) and not just fruit.

Fruit is good for you - but in moderation, as is contains natural sugars. Enjoy, but make sure you are eating more veggies than fruit.
