This is really not a big deal!! Just tell your mom that you have shaved your legs and want to continue to do so!!! Most moms are fine with that!!!

My mom told me to shave my hairy legs when I was 11-12 yrs old...so don't worry...it's all about growing up!!!

I asked my mom about shaving before doing so one day before i took a bath... she said i was still too young... well.. i didn't listen and i stole her razor and shaved...then when I got out of the tub she asked my older sister if i should shave and they looked at my legs and saw that i already did..lol... so after that she bought me a razor of my own... and have hated shaving ever since. I was about 10 i think.

I am a mother of two girls myself. My 7 year old just got caught shaving behind my back a few weeks ago. She got in trouble for lying about it. If you talk to your mom about wanting to shave she should understand. I think 13 is a good age to start shaving. My niece is 12 and she started shaving this past summer. Good luck

I suspect she knows and it really isn't a big deal to most mothers, however, some of them will throw a fit. I think you ought to be honest about it because as you age, you will want to do other things and if she can't trust you to tell her you shaved, how will she trust you with bigger things. like boyfriends and such? You and your mother need to keep an open line of communication because of the trust issue. Why didn't yyou bring up the issue with your mom? I am the mother of 3 daughters and 3 sons, I know I need to build a trustworthy with them and so far, I have done the right things.

How cute.
Just be careful with that thing!
No my mom did not tell me it was time to start shaving, I think I just bought (with my $2.00 allowance) one of those (old time) Daisy razors and took matters into my own hands..
I'm still waiting for my mom to give me the birds and bees talk...
LOL !! I am 44 and my mother God bless her passed away 2 Christmas's ago..
Oh, p.s. your Mom will be fine when she does find out or you decide to tell her.

My daughter just went through that with my wife. As parents we would like our babies to stay small and young. Shaving is a sign you are growing up and as a proud dad, I like thinking about my daughter asleep on my lap as an infant I am not ready for her to be shaving her legs, But she is. That's life and it's something that each parent has to face when the time comes.

Speak openly with your mom about it. Ask her when you think you should do that.

communication problem
instead of waiting for your mom to say something
why didn't u just ask her?
once u start shaving, u will have to do it once a week
because the hair grows back hard and prickly
and now would be a good time to tell your mom
I always tell my teenage daughter, never be afraid to ask about anything

First off, I'm not a parent but but a paren't point of view really isn't needed for this question...

Second, you didn't steal but borrowed.

Now to answer the question....approach your mom your self about it...you can wait for her to come to you but behind her eyes that mind is thinking of all the things she has to take care of daily, along with making sure you and the rest of the siblings are okay...talking to your mom will make her acknowledge the fact that it's time to discuss it with you and if anything she will respect you more for reaching out to her instead of somebody else.

You'll be pleased much more approaching her about it instead of waiting for her to approach you.

Why didn't you just ask your mom about shaving? I'm sure she would have bought you your own razor and showed you how to shave!

I'm sure your mother wouldn't be too upset about it. You're sprouting hair because you're entering puberty. Understandably, you don't want to be a beastie, so you shaved. That's ok.

You should have asked first. If she's mad at all, that's what the issue is going to be.
