If for some reason you disapprove of Mardi Gras, then the answer will be 'bad'. For anyone else, the answer is 'hell yeah'. Last year Mardi Gras was still fantastic, maybe even better since the crowd was only about 1/2 normal. And the parades were great, just as unique as every year, and the throws were better than in past years.

Almost every krewe is running their parade, including the big super-krewe parades. The hotels are ready and capable of handling the visitors, as are the restaurants and the French Quarter. If you are still not sure, check out the just released Zagat's Guide To New Orleans (released this week).

I am from New Orleans and mardi gras is good every year and if you feel like coming you will have a good time. People who don't know what they are talking about need to shut up. Mardi Gras is a celebration its not for drunks and naked people. If you you do decide to come go to the Zulu parade and watch all of the marching bands that will be there , because my school will be there. I hate the way everyone is talking bad about New Orleans. We have just had something terrible happen so let them celebrate any way they want to.

Mardi Gras in New Orleans is always worth the trip. I have been every year since 1990. I noticed a smaller crowd last year, but that's not always a bad thing. We could actually move on Bourbon street ( during the day anyway). I will be there again next month, and I can't wait. The city needs the tourist dollar!

FANfreakinTASTIC
New Orleans isnt really doing all that bad, of course we could be better but its ok. Last year Mardi Gras was fine, a few less people and some of the parade routes were changed but it really looked like everyone had just as much fun as always. Itll be even better this year.
Let the good times (and the parades) roll!!!

Probably not as good. The mayor is concerned with all the murders they've had this year. 9 since January 1. They say it will make people too scared to come to Mardi Gras.

i never approved of mardi gras and still don't. it's just a drunks party with naked people. who wants to be in the middle of all of that. I thing New Orleans needs to spend their money on more important things right now.
