I had to start with smaller dose of 25 mg because my side effect were too severe to deal with. Even with that - dry mouth, loss of apetite, couldn't sleep without additional pills for sleep, total loss of sexual desire. I had to discontunue because my dosctor and I came to comclusion it makes me just as misearble as I was wit depression, just different kind of miserable.

diffferent people will experience different side effects. if you think you are having a weight gain issue change the way you eat. discuss the side effects with your doctor as some of them may be temporary until your body gets used to the medicine. you could also try another medication entirely if you don't think the zoloft is working for you. that is why there are more than one on the market. if money is an issue you can go with a medicine that has a generic form. the price difference is usually quite a bit.

(Your pharmacist should provide you with a pamphlet containing this information whenever you start taking a new medication.)First of all, all medications legally available in the USA are put through rigorous screening processes by the FDA. If they weren't overall safe, they wouldn't be sold. However, every medication (natural or man-made) has side effects. The more common ones for Zoloft are less serious:
Nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, loss of appetite, increased sweating, drowsiness, diarrhea, upset stomach, or trouble sleeping may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
Less common are the slightly more serious: unusual or severe mental/mood changes (e.g., agitation, nervousness, suicidal thoughts), decrease in sexual ability (ejaculation delay), decreased interest in sex, uncontrollable shaking (tremor), unusual weight loss.
The very serious are very rare but require immediate attention: easy bruising/bleeding, persistent nausea/vomiting, severe stomach/abdominal pain, black stools, seizures, change in the amount of urine, dark urine, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, yellowing eyes/skin.
For males, in the very unlikely event you have a painful or prolonged erection lasting 4 or more hours, stop using this drug and seek immediate medical attention, or permanent problems could occur.
Take your Zoloft because if your doctor prescribed it, you probably need it and many of the less serious side effects will resolve themselves in a couple weeks when your body gets used to the medication. Also, the depression you're experiencing now is probably worse than the dry mouth you could get if you take the meds. And it doesn't look like you're going to gain weight.

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.
You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.
It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out this video here: http://www.sexyjese.com - it will blow your mind.

I took it a while ago. It was very effective for the depression but I did gain weight on it. Of course, my metabolism died when I turned 40 so that may not be the case with you. Check with your pharmacist and good luck.

I don't know. My word of caution is;
I was put on Zoloft & in effect was being treated for the wrong problem. That (for me) was a terrible "side effect".

Total loss of sex drive. No weight gain. Hard to sleep without also using Ambien. You also can't cry - even at really sad things.
