I dont feel badly about answering the suicide questions, I try to reflect back to the person asking the question something positive to consider, perhaps just a little kindness or a simple I care will change something inside them..... maybe it wont... maybe it will...
for sure some people asking suicide related questions are just seeking attention but there is no harm in giving anyone a little positive attention...
and as for do I worry about the person ad wonder if they will or will not do it..... yes I do a little... but then remiind myself that there is nothing I can do but let it go...and get on with my life.. a little detachment goes a long way...

If the person really goes ahead with the suicide, chances of me (you) finding it out would be really slim... I doubt they'd be emailing any of us to let us know?!
-Now on the serious note, I actually think that answering is a better way of getting a positive message through, even if it's only attention being craved.
You and me crave attention but we're not posting such question, therefore I believe that trying to get noticed by being preoccupied with these questions speaks enough.

I won't knowingly provide information to assist someone with committing suicide, but I will hopefully provide ideas for alternative actions. As a person who has experienced these sorts of feelings many times in the past, I know that ultimately whatever another person says cannot 'make' someone take their life - this is their own responsibility, their own action.

I am not going to answer those kinds of questions. I agree with others, this is not the place to be asking if they should commit suicide. Plus, you don't know if they are just goofing around or not. And if they are really serious, you would have to be VERY careful of what you say, the littlest things could effect their decision. Who knows what could happen? They should go to professional help. Not the internet where random, cruel, people could get to them and mess with their head.

I don't give advice that I'm not trained to give. This site is for opinions so if someone comes on here wanting to commit suicide, they are probably just looking for more excuses to do it. There are plenty of hotlines and websites available so anyone serious about doing so shouldn't come to this site in the first place. Too many smart asses, its enough to drive even a sane person insane.

I dont answer those questions at all, because you never know exactly what the person needs to hear to make them feel better. You dont know if what you have just sent will send them "over the edge" or will calm them. Pun intended.

I skip those questions. People could be fishing for information that my harm them, they want an incredible amount of attention, or they are making light of a very serious subject. I just don't want to be involved in any of that, besides I'm not qualified.

Yeha but I try to avoid being suicide 101. I try to tell someone the downfall of suicide and how much they will regret it or how others who've attempted it regret it.

I generally don't answer those. And no, I don't feel guilty for skipping those questions; if a person is intent on killing themself, it's unlikely that a total stranger's brief message on the other end of their computer is going to prevent them from doing it.
