What do you think of my 360 blog? And please be kind! I have had it with rude and obnoxious people on Yahoo! Answers.

I'm not criticizing anyone, really, here is what I mean; the professional photographers that I know are very detail oreintated, precise, perfectionistic people that pay very close attention to detail's. Now, I see alot of people handing out advice that are either lazy or uneducated because they don't know how to spell and I am having trouble with that...aren't photographer's very patient, precise people as a group, in general. Maybe, there are alot of people on here that really don't know what they are talking about. I understand typo's but I am talking about 5th grade level ~

That's exactly my point!!! I always misspell
that word...We all make mistakes don't we. It was just an observation anyway. I don't think that in this country, we hold ourselves to very high standards anymore.

Oh, come on people! There is a spell checker right above the answer message box! No, do not take advise from people that can not spell. I don't, there is no excuse for it!

you have a fun 360 page i think all ferrets will nip a person's nose or fingers if they get a chance sometimes...i probably would have shot the camera differently, only because my wife would be managing the set.
and just because someone doesn't know how to spell, doesn't mean they can't operate a camera...it just means they don't use spell check, let alone a dictionary; but perhaps the dictionary is being employed pressing leaves or as a weight for something...or as their booster seat, or perhaps as a kind of spur of the moment stabilizer for their camera.
and spell check misses stuff, too...I've always found a good old fashioned dictionary very useful...for all the reasons i listed, and to look up the spelling of words and their meaning.

I try my best to spell properly and use good English, but it seems that some people are more "visual learners" than detail learners. I mess up sometimes, too, so I am never critical of anyone else. If they can't form a proper sentence, though, I tend to discount some of their answer and I tend to avoid answering their questions.

The spell-checker doesn't always work, either. If you have more than 8-10 lines, it just seems to get hung up. Knot that a spill checker can always ketch every thing, ether...

I am a professional photographer and spelling errors are one of my biggest pet peeves. I agree that most professional photographers are perfectionistic. We get paid to have an eye for detail. I wouldn't expect anyone to take me seriously if I couldn't spell. And by the way, it's oriented not orientated :)

know, speechy youre laguage.
:-D

I'm so sorry, I just had to do that.
I do understand where you're coming from.
I think most people get in such a hurry to post they don't use the spell check or their typing skills are not up to it OR they use email / text messaging lingo. Personally, I have funky touch typing skills.
Also, many members have English as their second language. Their phrasing and spelling is often odd.
Anyway, you have to read around some of the questions and answers. You may find some good information in here.

Yes, not everyone, quite a lot of people actually, have a hard time spelling. Even though they aren't the best spellers, they may be experts at photography. Don't criticize them, remember English is a complicated language.
