Grades and attendance don't count for much until high school, unless you are held back a grade or wish to be accepted into a selective private high school. At this time, you should develop your learning style and studying habits in preparation for high school (and then college, if you decide to pursue higher education). Just make sure that you don't miss too many days, as most schools have a maximum number of days that you can miss each year (or semester/quarter, depending on the school).

Yes it matters. I'll tell you really why. Of course you need to attend class, do the work etc., But much of school prepares you for life after school. When you work, there will be many days when you wonder if it is all worth it and will it really matter if I show up. Hopefully you won't have a job like that, but many do. So know that there are many days that seem worthless compared to the exciting times. The trick is to make each day exciting by giving it your best every day. That may not seem cool now, but it will make all the difference in your happiness. Make every day your best day and you will have a great future. Good luck.

It matters a lot. If you are not in the class, you will miss onto the firsthand info as well as the interaction with the classmates and the teacher. I feel that experience of being in the class is very important for succeeding in any grade. Also, the attendance might be compulsary depending on the school. Check the rules.

Why are you missing school in the first place? Attendance matters because if you are not there you can't learn the material. If you don't learn the material, you get an automatic chance NEXT YEAR to make up for it in the same grade.

Not only does attendance affect your grades, most schools have a maximum number of days you can miss without automatically failing a grade.

Nothing really matters until you get to high school. You just have to pass middle school to get there. Colleges don't see anything you do before high school. If you have a doctors note you can miss as many days as you want. The number of days out untill you get punished is up to your school.

ahh, seventh grade, the worst time of my life. Attendence matters, i hardly ever showed up and when i did the teachers got mad. In order to pass you have to stay caught up, and inorder to do that you have to have good aattendence.

Of course attendance matters. In any grade. If you're not there, you can't keep up with the subject material.

Why do you have an attendance problem? If you are missing class then there is no doubt you will have a problem passing.
