You can put olive oil in the pot when you add the dry noodles to the water. Just a couple of tablespoons will be fine. Also make sure you rinse them after you drain them, that will rinse off all the extra starch.

I have this great recipe for spaghetti. You follow the recipe on the back of the spaghetti sauce jar or spaghetti noodle case. Then, when the sauce starts to simmer, you add 2 chopped asian pears. It makes it a little sweeter and juicier.
Also, if your spaghetti noodles are dry, try boiling 3/4 of a pot of water, adding salt when you put the noodles in, and then draining them and rinsing them with cool water. Then you put some olive oil in the pot and put the noodles back in with it.

I am a spaghetti expert. To make awesome spaghetti noodles, bring salted water to a boil. Add your noodles and cook for 7-8 minutes, until done. (You can test one noodle by tasting it to see if it is done). When noodles are done, pour them into a large colander to drain the water. Run some cold water through the noodles (this will stop the cooking and prevent the noodles from getting sticky). Run the cold water until the noodles are not hot anymore, just warm. Then, you can finish draining the noodles and add whatever sauce you like.

They are dry because you take too long in adding the other ingredient you want to eat them with, being this grated parmesan cheese or tuna. What you can do is when you drain the pasta, put in on a bowl and add a bit of "olive oil" and mix, this will keep the pasta moist.
I am Italian so I reccomend pasta with mushrooms, sweet peas and sausage. Dice some onion, place on pan with olive oil and cook until the onion becomes soft, add sliced mushrooms from a can or raw ones you find in the grocery and the sweet peas, as well as the sausage in small pieces. Cook everything well, make sure nothing is left raw. If it is too dry, add olive oil (do not use another type of oil). Mix this with the pasta and serve with grated parmesan cheese (if you find parmiggiano the real italian parmesan it would be great) on the top. Be sure that the pasta is "al dente", meaning not overcooked but slightly slightly hard. Let me know how it goes, remeber you can eat pasta with anything, so experiment!

Dry? Well, Are you putting spagetti sauce on the noodles right after you cook them? If you are not using spagetti sauce, put butter on them right after you drain them after cooking and they won't get so dry. Also, put salt in the water before boiling the noodles. That will help flavor them as well. That is something that I just started doing and I am 1/2 itallian and have been cooking spagetti for years now. Hope that helped.

Try cooking a few minutes longer and add a bit of olive oil, or other cooking oil, to the water before you start boiling it and make sure you stir it about so that the noodles soak some.

Boil the water with a bit of salt and if you want, a bit of oil. Once it is to a boil, put in your pasta and ensure that it is all in the water and give it a good stir. I always say 7 mins. for just done noodles, but a good way to see is by biting one in half, if you still see white in the middle, they arent cooked. Once you strain, if you have used oil, do not rinse the pasta, if you havent used oil, then rince with WARM WATER, as this gets the excess gluten off the pasta. If you use cool water, it just cools the pasta, and the gluten and it stays on. GOOD LUCK and let me know how it goes.

when you are cooking the spaghetti throw a piece at the wall. If it sticks it is done cooking. Most people cook there spaghetti and sauce is seperate pots. once the spaghettis is cooked and stainded mix the sauce into the same pot as the spaghetti and simmer it on low. after a few minutes it will be ready to serve.
Hope I helped

The secret to good spaghetti is to by a good noodle to start with Barilla's is wonderful - then you have to make your sauce from scratch and not a jar -
Buy some canned diced tomatoes, some tomatoe sauce, minced garlic, browned ground beef pre-seasoned with salt and pepper, oregano, basil, parsley - just experiment until you find a mixture and consistency you like - I have mine down to a science - I can (mason jars) and freeze mine - my whole family places orders clear across the US of A when they want some - lol - good thing I love to cook - from scratch!

When the water begins to boil, put the noodles in and add about 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil. They will NOT come out dry whatsoever and they won't be as sticky.
