Small Ways to Lose a Big Belly

1. Fried foods are garbage. Potato chips, French fries and onion rings are pregnant with saturated fat and calories, yet they contain zero healthy or muscle-promoting nutrients. If you're on a fat-loss plan, simply eliminate fried foods. That alone will allow you to shed lard quickly

2. Drink a glass of skim milk as soon as you wake up. Some quick protein before you even step into the shower will energize you and end those morning cravings for Egg McMuffins and pastry.

3. Do 2 minutes of pushups every morning. It's tough to exercise as soon as you roll out of bed, but you can burn off 21 calories a day--2 1/2 pounds in a year.

4. Toss a quart of water in your briefcase. Water helps you burn calories--96 calories just by carrying a bottle while you walk for 20 minutes. Serve it over ice in your office and your body will burn 31 calories warming it to 98.6. Then there's the aerobic effect of all those bathroom runs.

5. Want to look better naked? Try drinking half as much alcohol. Alcohol contains calories. You may drink like a fish, but booze isn't water. Even a light beer has more than 100 calories. Booze makes you store fat. Your body sees alcohol as a poison, and tries desperately to get rid of it. Your liver stops processing all other calories until it has dealt with the alcohol. So anything else you eat during the time you're drinking is more likely to end up as fat. Alcohol also lowers testosterone. With more abdominal fat, testosterone drops.

Firstly, anyone who gains more than twice what they expect the child to weigh should plan to breastfeed. That way they give the kid about 1200 calories/day, and can eat people food rather than buy baby food. (actually of course all moms should breast feed). Cravings during pregnancy are your body telling you it is not being properly nourished, and it is crying out for something, but often isn't real good at telling what it needs. 2000 calories a day will maybe keep you from gaining weight, but certainly won't cause you to loose much. Walking 1 mile/day is good exercise, but won't burn many calories. If you eat nothing but whole fruits and vegetables, no refined foods, you should start losing weight steadily. The more you can eat raw the better. Get some good supplement, because if you cut back to a good quality 1200 calorie/day (or less) diet you might be a bit short on some vitamins or minerals. You're getting older, so your metabolism may have slowed some. Obviously, to compensate for this, you need to drop your caloric intake and exercise more. One mile a day walking is not going to cut it. Try jogging if you can. Or increase the bike to an hour a day. An hour of exercise is more effective if you really want to lose and you will see results much quicker. Also, if you're eating 2000 calories a day, you will maintain your weight at 200 if you are not active enough. They say you need a deficit of 300 calories a day to lose a pound a week, so eat a little less and exercise a lot more. Five to six days a week for optimal results. It can be done. Lastly, never skip breakfast. I've lost 36 pounds doing this, so I know this works.

If you eat 3,500 calories more than your body needs, you will put on about 1 pound. If you use up 3,500 calories more than you eat, you will lose about 1 pound in weight. So you have a bit of work ahead of you to lose the weight. Just watch you do not lose the weight too quickly without doing exercise or you could be left with folds of skin.
In order to lose the 50 pounds you will need to use up around 972 calories a day for 6 months.
Please stop taking your kids to McDonald's, if it put on so much weight for yourself and obviously did nothing good for your body, then why subject your children to that. It is not good for them, make them a salad or other healthy foods. Children need to learn early on how to eat properly, and McDonald's is not that. You would not let your children smoke which clogs the arteries, so why let them go to McDonald's?

To lose one pound you have to eat 3,500 less calories, but if you exercise with eating say 1,500 calories a day it won't take so long plus you will be building muscle and muscle weights more than fat. If you lose the weight too quickly you will lose some muscle plus losing weight say one or two pounds a day will stay off better. It has to be a mind set as far as dieting goes, a way of life for the rest of your life if you want to keep it off. It is not what you eat occasionally, like a piece of pie, etc. but what you do on a regular diet and if you exercise daily you will be able to eat a little more and still lose.

I suggest that you try body cleansing. I tried it and really got lean quickly. I lost 15 pounds in 9 days and also 3 inches off my waist. I do body building so getting leaner was my goal. My sister did this program too and she lost a lot of weight quickly. I did not know too much about cleansing but there are a lot of TV commercials about this stuff. This is a body cleanse and not just a colon cleanse, I wanted my body to get lean quickly and this did the trick! You and my wife too. She is fighting the fight everyday.

Get the best bang for your buck while exercising. Get a heart rate monitor and monitor your heart rate.

Here is the best tool you will need in any cardio workout!

Here is my example: 220 - age = ?

Take ? (which is your maximum heart rate) and
multiply it times 80% and 60%.

While doing for 25 minutes of cardio...try and stay between these numbers (60-80%) for the most optimal performance.

Oh, 3 days a week minimal.
