I have to make a phamplet. So I want to ask what drug makes cough medication high? And how does it affect the body?
No offence but I think kids these days are getting stupider. Seriously.

It's called Dextromethorphan. Dextromethorphan is a safe and effective active ingredient found in many non-prescription cough syrups, tablets, and gel caps. When used according to medicine label directions, the ingredient dextromethorphan produces few side effects and has a long history of safety. When abused in large amounts, it can produce a "high" feeling as well as a number of dangerous side effects.
The effects of the abuse of cough medicines containing dextromethorphan vary with the amount taken. Common effects include confusion, dizziness, double or blurred vision, slurred speech, loss of physical coordination, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, rapid heart beat, drowsiness, numbness of fingers and toes, and disorientation. DXM abusers describe different "plateaus" ranging from mild distortions of color and sound to visual hallucinations, "out-of-body" dissociative sensations, and loss of motor control. Side effects can be worsened if the dextromethorphan-containing cough medicine being abused also contains other ingredients to treat more than just coughs.
Cough medicine also is sometimes abused in combination with other medications, alcohol and illegal drugs, which can increase the dangerous side effects.

Wow! At least five grammatical errors. No offense, but if kids are getting "stupider" than this we are truly doomed.

It's a really long word that begins with a d. Most cough meds don't use it anymore. I don't think it's available over the counter. It used to just take half a bottle of cough medicine to trip with it, but or people would take a bunch of corricedines, but I don't think they use the same stuff as they used to. Now you have to have your id to get meds and you can only get one bottle or pack at a time.

It depends. Some cough syrups contain codeine, which is a narcotic pain medication. It used to be in over-the-counter cough syrups as well, decades ago.
Cough syrups now that contain antihistamines can cause euphoria when taken in large quantities.

Stimulants (in non-drowsy medicines, to keep your brain running) and Depressants (all cold medicines have them, I think).
Depressant is the thing that makes you all sleepy and drowsy...
Stimulants, as the name suggests, keeps you awake. However, when this drug wears off, you feel worse than you did before because at first you feel wide awake and then go back to the state of drowsyness the depressants cause.

DXM... when you take it as prescribed it has no effect but in high doses (half or whole bottle) it acts as a hallucinogen. also they have a lot of alcohol in them so its a combination of getting a little tipsy and high that makes it appealing to teens.
