What are the types of pollution that cause reduced levels of dissolved oxygen in aquatic ecosystems. And in each case how is the dissolved oxygen affected.

All types of organic pollution - sewage, fertilizer, etc. -can cause reduced oxygen because of microbes that use up O2 for respiration. This is called the biological oxygen demand. The other type of pollution is thermal pollution where water is heated, and the amount of dissolved O2 decreases.
