Success is your measure of happiness. Following your interests and passions, becoming the best at something you love, and inevitably making money from that, earning your living, and reaping the benefits of money, success, mastery: that is happiness. And you do that for yourself, because you love yourself. If more people loved themselves, worked for themselves, for what they want out of life, honestly, justly, and without the use of force, and left everyone else alone to do the same, the world would be a wonderful place.

Success is great, but in the long run, it will be your attitude and your personality that will shape more of who you are. You could be a cold and ruthless CEO, who has tons of money and can go anywhere and do anything. Or, you can be a CEO who has tons of money, but knows how to treat his family and cares for others. Everyone is made up of the same matter, but not everyone has the same mind. Your mind is what made you different. If there is always a smile on your face, then you have been blessed from above with happiness that not many people experience. Just stay true to yourself and don't let go of your happiness for the love of money or in times of stress or turmoil. Use all those naturally wonderful traits for good and you will be far ahead of the "other guys."

Success does not matter in the long run. All these things you have stated at the top of your question are just things. Looking good doesnt mean anything, playing all the sports doesnt mean anything, the brand of clothing you wear doesnt mean anything. They are just things that might please someone else, but dont make a mistake, or that could change. Thats how the world works. And it's wrong.
AS long as you can be happy with yourself and support yourself (and a family if you have one) then success shouldnt matter. No man is better than the other. People just think if they do all these amazing or great things that they will be better than the person next to them. Wrong. Just be happy, dont try to succeed at everything to be better than someone else. Tha person who wants to be the better guy sometimes isnt always doing so great on the inside.
But if you can be happy with yourself, and you still want to succeed at many things in life for YOURSELF only, then go ahead.
Good Luck!

I see your point and it depends on what you use to measure success, i think i lead a well balanced life, but when i take a few minutes form my busy schedule to smile and say hello to an elderly neighbor and give her a hug she says to me I Love You and holds on to me for that warmth i feel like the most beautiful and successful person in the world. try using what you have to give back a little and it will touch your heart.

Does success matter to whom? You? Or prospective dates/partners/love interests? People in general?
Success matters to women, yes. But everyone defines success differently, so what might turn on one girl might not get it done for another. The question is, how do YOU define success and are you happy with your life in relation to that definition? You need to find someone who will line up with your definition.
If you think your life is a success, then who cares if someone else doesn't?

I think it matters becasue with success comes comfort and the feeling of security and thats important to alot- alot of people. Actually its important to just about everyone. Just think about it, if your on welfare and foodstamps and have 3-4 kids with no help and no job- your probably very stressed out and stress wares you down. Now if your brad pitt or angelina jolie what worries do you have to deal with "oh I don't want my picture taken today because my stylist didnt' do my hair"?

I say you have to define "success". What is your definition? Is it making lots of money and having a nice house and a great car or is it getting married to a woman that loves you to pieces and having a great relationship with her and your children?
Whatever your definition is...I hope that you find success.

Sweetheart, success is always an important concept in the long run. Without success, you have nothing! I know I'd love to have a man who is successful in anything & everything he does.

What I have noticed that people seem to choose others that are totally out of their league....find someone who is in your league and who can appreciate you. Perhaps finding the Pamela Anderson or Lindsey Lohan type is not for you...but finding the Mia Farrow type is...just an example

your experiences, thought process, choices, viewpoints, and eduction is different. you are unique. and it makes a difference in the long run with how you touch/interect with others and this planet. every single event changes life. sadly though, if you are successful you may have a greater chance to impact people, places, and things.
