Some children these days are forced to go to church and learn about the bible and are told it is all complete fact. And that science is all complete lies and to ignore it at all cost if it disrupts your religion. This is told to someone that instantly beleives in the tooth fairy easter bunny santa clause so on. Children will beleive in anything you tell them cause they are preprogrammed to so they dont go jumping off bridges and so on. I think it is child abuse to teach a kid that he must live his life this way or he is going to hell and scare the living **** out of him. Even if you are christian muslim or jew i think you can agree with this because if your religion is the true one. Wouldnt you want people beleiving in your religion to actually beleive in it and not just programmed to be ignorant of everything outside it. I was raised this way and actually taught all these things. And it drastically limited my learning. How can this abuse of children be stoped.

I think religion (except the FSM) is full of crap, but that is not child abuse.

call it wilfull blindness, ignroance or whatever but not child abuse.

Parents pass on thier beliefs to thier children and they are entitled to, It is wrong to blind them however, but a truly good parent will let a child make an unbiased decision when they are old enough.

I know you didn't think this one through, but I strongly feel that telling a parent what to tell their kid at home is no different than the creationist nut-jobs trying to have creationism taught in schools with evolution or having "evolution disclaimers" in textbooks.

I too was raised this way. Luckily only half of my exposure was to Zealotry, my mother is a deist. I have pondered this one for a long time. Maybe we could form a coalition on it?
