I assume you mean a HGV driving assessment, if this is the case
my husband says the company you are hoping to work for will
send you out in one of their vehicles with a driver they feel is
competent enough to assess your driving, if your driving is good
enough they should employ you but it will depend on what the
assessor thinks and reports back GOOD LUCK

Having had a few assessments (and also assessed potential employees), you will usually get questions on your driving history, experience and knowledge.
Following that, you should be asked to carry out an accompanied drive for maybe 15-30 minutes (don't forget your tacho...) with the interviewer or transport manager. Some firms may also ask you to perform a reversing or parking manoeuvre when you return to the depot (backing onto a loading bay, for example).
Drive carefully, stick within the law and good luck!

Twisted_A s answer was a goodun.
My tip would be if you are loaded and you are approaching traffic lights at the bottom of a steep hill, approach slowly, time the approach so you don't have to stop and then you will be able to keep moving. Shows vehicle sympathy, road sense and planning.
Best of luck!
