It can make you FEEL your back pain-you usually have to have an issue first, and then sleeping on your stomach puts more pressure on your spine, then you feel it. Lying on your side, or on your back with a pillow under your knees takes pressure off your spine.

Yes it can, prone (stomach) is one of the worst positions for your back, you should try sleeping on your back to give it more support. Good luck!

If you suffer from chronic back pain, almost anything can "cause" it, that is aggravate the situation. Somtimes sleeping on your side is best. Sometimes, unfortunately, almost nothing helps except morphine sulfate or fentanyl.
