What do you mean when you say you "know god personally" or "are filled with the holy spirit"

Question

Please do not be vague. Please tell me exactly what goes on with regard to physical feelings and mental states. Do you feel something in your body? Do you hear or see something? Is it a feeling like sombody is next to you? Is it simply knowledge in the same way you know orange juice is made of oranges?

Again please be specific and speak in non-religious terms.

Sometimes His presence is just a knowing feeling and sometimes it is overwhelming and demands all of my attention. I feel a presence inside and around me. It's generally warm, relaxing and happy. I visit with Him and He leads me with a progression of emotions and thoughts. Usually I do not get tired or have an appetite when He is with me, I am quite comfortable. Only one time about a month ago, His presence scared me. He took me on a journey like a dream but I was awake. After it was over my hands were ice cold and I was trembling uncontrollably, I felt sort of numb, like I couldn't move. I really thought I was losing my mind, but everything He had shown me was so real and it made perfect sense. It's very difficult to describe to you with words, I only hope you feel His presence for yourself very soon if you haven't already.

1. I was talking to a small group of people about Jesus and the Lord took over my mouth.

2. At 3:00 a.m. I was awakened by God's voice or His angels voice, "Get up and see the wonders of God." I got up, went outside and saw the most beautiful light - huge ball of light at the top of the hill. Never seen it before, never seen it since. I had prayed and asked God to show me something. The Bible tells us that he will show us great and mighty things. He finally showed me this beautiful light.

3. Twice I have heard the audible voice of God. Not the small quiet voice that I hear when He says "park here" or "buy this" or
"send this" or "help her."

I have not heard God's voice in a long time. I hunger and thirst to hear His voice. What God says to you - you will never forget. It is unforgetable communication.

God has always been by my side ever since I was saved as a young girl. I left Him, but He never left me. I can't tell you how many times He has answered my prayers. My daughter just had a kidney and pancreas transplant. She was diagnosed with diabetes at age 11. She is no longer a diabetic after the surgery. This is an answered prayer by itself.

I have had the Holy Spirit awaken me in a dream to pray for the person in my dream.

I have had dreams for no other reason than to comfort me about a lost loved one.

Once, outside while praying and reading the Bible a wind came up out of no where and encircled me and then went. I knew it was God just loving me.

He made a long 3 hour trip short for me once. I always felt tired after making that trip without stopping, but one time I got in the car and I was there. I remember singing "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, sweetest name I know" and I sang that song the whole 3 hours, but it felt like 15 minutes. This was strange and it has not happened since.

A lot is orange juice is made of oranges, because I read His Word and I know His Word is truth. I trust Him. I believe Him.

I hope this has helped you. Some people see Him or His angel and I have not seen a man's figure in any form. Maybe soon.

I'm trying to think of a good analogy here..
For me, when I know God personally, I talk with him and try to listen to what he has to say to me. I do that by reading the Bible and then trying to find out how to apply what is said in my life.

I don't hear an audible voice, but I do feel a sense of prompting. Sometimes it's to give a person a word of encouragement or go up to someone and try to do something nice for them. Or else it is a sense that I should change direction on an activity I'm planning which may not make sense at the time, but later on it makes perfect sense.

So, it's not exactly simple knowledge, but it is a sense of how God wants me to treat other people. That is more than just being of good moral character, it's about trying to make a difference in a person's life.

The Infilling of The Holy Spirit is genuine. area One: once you get Born-lower back, your spirit gets Recreated and GOD Lives interior you. (you're Baptised interior the Holy Spirit--no longer stuffed yet.) area 2: once you get stored (spirit Recreated) you are able to provide GOD Permission to come lower back into your Soul. it is observed as the Infilling of the Holy Spirit. you're a spirit (seem purely like your physique) you have a Soul (2nd recommendations--the international calls it the SubConsious) you reside in a physique (actual flesh and blood) You get stored (Recreated) on your spirit. You get stuffed on your Soul. The Soul (2nd recommendations, Will and thoughts) are not getting Recreated. The physique (Flesh and Blood) does no longer get Recreated. purely you, a spirit, gets Recreated. The Soul should be RENEWED with the be attentive to GOD. The physique would be Recreated Later. wish this facilitates! Ditto............you are able to or would possibly no longer sense GOD's Presence once you Ask GOD to Fill you with the Holy Spirit. once you be taught a thank you to wish in Tongues (edify your self--can charge up your religious Batteries) on your Prayer Closet, it is easily no longer lengthy Untill you DO sense GOD's Presence.

I was a troubled young lady undergoing problems with my parents' divorce, father's bankruptcy, and overwhelmed with problems I felt I could not face. I was brought up believeing in God but never went to church, etc.
But one day while praying I asked God to help me, and I told Him I gave Him my lie, my heart and my worship. I asked Him to take over my problems, and suddenly I felt physically as if I'd lost 50 pounds. I felt ligthearted and secure. I felt loved.
I have encountered many bad times ince then, but prayer and God have always pulled me through. Knowing God is a good feeling in your heart, a feeling as if all your burdens and poisons have been removed. It is a trust feeling, knowing He will protect you and keep you from harm, and if you encounter obstacles, He has a reason and you will overcome them. It is not a constant "high" because we are human and we do get depressed and discouraged, but when I pray and talk (mentally) to God, I always get that sweet feeling, that liberation when I realize and can feel Him taking over my problems. It is a secure, loved feeling, and a delightful freedom from worry (which doesn't always last because I am human) because when I ask Him, and I think about it, I know in my heart He will take care of the problems I face.
He hasn't always answered my prayers the way I expected or wanted, but He always answers, even when He says no.

To know God personally simply means that you make him part of your every day life by reading about him in the Bible and by speaking to him in prayer and by trying to apply scripture to your life because it is his word.
To be filled with the Holy Spirit means to use your Bible knowledge to make the correct decisions that Jesus would approve of.
I have read the other answers and I believe that they are very spiritual Chistians. I have a very strong faith in Jesus, but I just can't relate to "the spiritual side of things."

You feel euphoric when you are filled with the spirit. it is hard to explain. you are happy, you feel invincible and loved and all other kinds of feelings. I its something you WANT to share so everyone else can feel it. Don't get me wrong. There are days when you feel let down abandon, but they are few and far between. I hope this helps

When a person is saying, "know God Personally", basically they are trying to tell you to read about God. Where do you read about God? in the Bible. try readin the bible from the beginning to the end. In the bible you will read a series of stories that occurred since the beginning of time, stories about how god speaks to people and through the spirit. When I say through the spirit it means that God is a Living and active spirit. And he speaks to people through the spirit. In order to fully understand that spirit, you must try to lead a life that's clean from sin. Now remember there is no perfect man, therefore, you can never be that perfect there is only one greater in this world and that is God. When you read the Bible read the bible as if you want God to speak to you. Through your reading God is going to give you understanding if you ask of it in prayer. How do you pray? Pray through your spirit. You have to want to know about god honestly in your heart. Praying through your whole heart insearch of wanting to hear his voice coming from within you and he will give that to you. In the bible he said seek and you shall find, Knock and the door shall be opened to you. So if you read the bible and in search of hearing Gods voice within you, he will give it to you, but you must first read about him and pray to him and ask him for wisdom, understanding and knowledge of what you are reading, and through his spirit, you will see how God moves people to come and explain the bible to you and anything you lack in understanding. Therefore, the more you find about God the more you get closer in to getting an understanding how the spirit of the lord moves in your life. You are a being with a spirit and a living soul. Without your soul you are not functioning. Just like you eat to fulfill your appetite you must also read the bible to fill your soul. Without food you are also not funtioning. Therefore, you need both. When you are filled with the holy spirit, you fill very excited when you are praising God, you feel powerful, you don't feel stressed, you humbled, you start to speak in tongues whatever it is that God is going to bless you with through his holy spirit you will know it is God who has done it
