If there is no sexual component between a man and a woman ... is there any point to having a girl as a "freind". Unless the guy is GAY!
Guys: do you want to be a special "go to" hang out, chat pal to a woman? Or are you as a guy just waitng for your chance to hit it!
Otherwise, it is unnatural and pointless yes?
Girls: You gotta know that if a guy is with you or talking to you - it is about SEX ( if he is straight ) or do you have some other point of view about having a single straight guy as a "friends"?

As a girl, I don't know. I know that I have male friends I don't want to have sex with and who have never expressed a wish to have sex with me. In fact I have a very close straight male friend that I wish was hanging around me because he wouldn't mind some sex, but he's hanging around because we have a laugh and he can tell me anything, which he doesn't get from his other straight male friends. I suspect that all relationships between men and women have some sort of sexual tension, they flirt a lot more than girl and girl friends or boy and boy friends, but then girls flirt more with gay guys too. I think sexual tension will always be there, but it's just dimmed down by the fact that we live in a society where people also want relationships and are aware that it wouldn't quite work out if we all just jumped on each other all the time on a whim. Men and women both know that there are consequences to sex, so even if you might have the occasional primal urge, you suppress it because there are other things you want more, like a long term partner, or you might want to avoid any messy aftermath if one person gets too attached when you were just in it for the sex. Because of societal complexities, it is never as simple as all that, otherwise we'd all just be constantly involved in one huge orgy and never get anything done!

before knowing the girl personalilty, it is all about look and sex
know the person more in deep. You will know if this woman is a player or a person that you cherish more.
In the end it is more about respect. Respect in having fun or respect for who they are.
Personality I found getting man are hard to friend with because of their ego and stubborn to have as a friend. That is why woman are more friendly to have around just as a "friend" than a parnter.

I agree, I think that most guys who hang around a girl are interested in a realationship other then a friend. However I have many friends that are guys that I only see a friends. SO, there is two sides to every coin and one back does not naturally scratch the other. So, if you girls have a guy that is hangen all around you and calling you his friend, be careful not to lead him on that it is anything to you other then just that, It sucks to be a tease.

A guy having girls as friends has nothing to do with sex ... It just means you enjoy each other's company, have things in common, therefore you hang out.
I'm sure there definitely are guys out there who are just friends with girls because they want to get in their pants though. So I guess the answer to your question is yes and no lol.

Dude yes it is plausible for either sex to have friends of the opposite sex as "friends". What planet are you from? Its not all sex related. I have many single and married guy friends. Thought of bedding them has never crossed my mind till now. Answer still NO.

uhmm i have lots of straight guys as friends. it's about the fact that we can get along together, b/s together, and do the "friend" thing (i/e be there for each other during crap times) together very well.
my best friend of 8 years is a straight (sometimes single) male, and we've never had sex..i'm his best friend..he's mine..
men and woman are humans before they are genders..so therefore it's not about the gender on how we connect with people and relate to them and be friends with them.

That is completely ridiculous. I have 3 female friends and about 30 male friends. Yes some of them were in to "get some" and they all got weeded out. It is possible to have co-ed relationships w/o it revolving around sex!!!!

ya we want some one other than b**chy girls and gay guys to hang out with and thats where we get the straight guy friends. and if he wants only sex than he is a jacka$$ and we usually drop them as friends. some guys do like haveing just girl friends. but like i said girls are B*tches so we want a guy to be with for an hour or so

First of all, you don't deserve to be around humans of ANY gender.
Secondly, yeah, I like being a go-to guy. I have friends who are girls, and I'm very close to them. We have chemistry, but I'm not looking to have sex with them.
And what are you babbling about us talking abou sex? You do realize alot of guys (well, REAL men...not sure what you are) are actually very good advice givers? Most of my girl friends are my friends because I got close to them being able to help them. I'm not looking for sex, and they know it.
