A celebrity and model favorite, the Ganesevoort Hotel, located in the meat packing district, is every bit of luxury. There is an onsite restaurant and bar, roof top patio with swimming pool and full service spa and fitness center. HUDSON HOTEL:

A bit south of Central Park is the Hudson Hotel. The décor is breathtaking, which compensates for the smaller size rooms. The Hudson Bar is a great place to meet with friends (I had my birthday party here 2 years ago), as well as, the sky terrace, the enchanted private park and the in house library. Onsite fitness center and spa also available. All guest rooms are equipped with high-speed Internet access, cable, CD players, data port, cordless telephone and multi-line telephones with voice mail

The first-floor bar is a regular stop to see and be seen, and the sizzling Asia de Cuba eatery is a short walk away—AMAZING Food! Amenities include, TV, high-speed Internet access, data port and free breakfast.

THE TIME:

For bigger hotels i'd recommend either the Four Seasons or the Mandarin Oriental. If you like a more boutique hotel, i'd recommend the 60 Thompson or the Hudson

all depends on what you want to spend, we have stayed at the Sheration right across the street from the Dave Letterman show, it was expensive, but a very good location I believe there are 2 at that location 7th Ave. They have everything. We have also stayed at the Howard Johnson on 8th ave. the price was very reasonable, had parking right there, and we were pleased with that too, staying for 1 night only, we were looking for a good price, Check these out on line or you can call them, sometimes they have special prices, Good Luck!!!

I have a number of places that I'd like to keep to myself, but I will tell you to NOT stay at the Hotel Pennsylvania. The staff is rude and slow, the rooms filthy, and the overall ambience is that of a prison.
