Forever.
Forever. Liquor will keep the bacteria out.

Theoretically, forever. However, if there is the tiniest of space for air to come in, the spirit could turn to vinegar over the years.

There was an auction in the mid-'80s, billionaire Malcolm Forbes paid approximately $155,000 at auction for a bottle of wine. The bottle, which was believed to have come from Thomas Jefferson's own collection and dated back to 1787. Certain lighting conditions caused the cork to fall into the bottle. The Guinness Book of World Records tells of the strange case of the most expensive bottle of wine never sold. In 1989 William Sokolin, a New York wine merchant, had a bottle of Chateau Margaux 1787, also with Jefferson's initials, on consignment from its English owner. He was asking $500,000 for it but had had no cash offers when he took it along to a Chateau Margaux dinner at the Four Seasons restaurant. There was an accident, and the bottle broke. They tasted some of the wine that was salvageable, but it was undrinkable.

Don't hold onto bottles too long. Just drink them.

Pretty much forever. Distilled spirits don't go bad. The only danger is evaporation if it's not capped properly.

Indefinitely. The owner of a spirits shop in Beverly Hills once told me, "liquor just doesn't go bad," and he ought to know!
