I use cloth diapers, when I change a diaper I put it in a bucket filled with water, 1 cap of non chlorine bleach, and 1 cap liquid tide with bleach. I soak all day...the morning one of course gets a longer soak than the last one...but I do a load every morning. When I wash, I use my powdered detergent, along with liquid bleach, and liquid stain remover. I also add in fabric softner///we use lavender as I have a girl...she smells sweet and so do her diapers. Hope this helps.

Get a 5 gallon bucket and just do the cup of vinegar with water in there and just the soiled clothes as a presoak . . .
Or if you wait until there is a full load of his soiled clothes, put in about 2 cups.
Adding borateam or baking soda might help also.

Gain detergent has a very nice frangrance and is quite good on odors. Also Adding Liquid fabric softener is good to help . Again Gain is a good one.
Also try Febreeze or a similar additive to the washer, it's a bit expensive but it works really well.

Soaking the soiled clothes is a good idea, try to do it as soon as you can, and then you can add Oxyclean to the load, it will help to get the stain out as well as the smell.

Try putting baking powder (arm and hammer) and vinegar in the wash. Do a cold rinse, then a hot wash. I use that with my sons cloth diapers and they don't stink!
