If I were to go there and pick up a friend, how far would I be allowed to go? Is anyone familiar with the airport that could tell me?

Just to the baggage claim area. I didn't see the whole airport but the section I was in was very small outside security. Pretty much they walk out security and all they can do is go down the escalator directly to the baggage claim and the outside door is right there.

Cleveland has a small area that is pre security. Which means most likely you will have to wait around the baggage claim area. Unless your freind has a medical condtion which may require him needing help off the plane. SOMETIMES the airlines are making exceptions in those type of cases. But most likely you will be haning out in the lovely baggage claim area.

There's a loop around the airport that you can keep going around until your friend gets there. Also, if you plan it right ... the short term parking is free if you're there for less than an hour. So you can park, pick them up, and get out without a charge.
