if so how many? and do they actually count towards weight loss? i heard its like 50 cals per hour u burn while sleeping. so if u sleep 10 hours thats 500 cals right? what if u only eat 500 cals a day? does cals burnt from sleeping counter act the 500 cals u eat? not that sleeping is the only activity done!

you burn calories while you breathe too! yes it would burn those 500 calories but if it runs out, it will burn the fat thats already stored in your body. but also, its not healthy to eat 500 calories and expect to burn it off while sleeping. you need lots of calories just to walk, eat, talk, breathe and do any other actions.

Yes, you do burn calories while sleeping, and yes they count towards your daily calorie count, however, it isn't 500 like you would like to believe, but much less. Weigh yourself before bed and then again in the morning. You should find a small weight loss, especially after going to the bathroom. But don't let sleeping be your only activity. Actually, even sitting and watching tv you burn calories, because just the act of breathing does that.

Living burns calories and the lower the activity, the lower the burn.
Veryyyy few people consume 500 cal a day, most consume that in a snack & their meals hit in the 2000 to 5000 range.
What are you eating that only adds up to 500 a day ?
